Wheel corrosion

Well, 2.5 months and 2k miles in I see the dreaded wheel corrosion is appearing around the centre hub badge.

That's a bit annoying. And I found a chip on my bonnet. Shouldn't have bothered washing her!!

Is the wheel corrosion issue on all Alloy Version types or just certain Model?

Not sure but I suspect it's a general issue. There was a thread on it a while back.

My M3 had the same thing.

It surprises me why a company with BMWs talents can't sort this out. You would assume they spend time looking at warranty cases and getting to the source of the problem. Time will tell. But I won't be accepting corroded wheels.

You don't specify which size or type of wheel it is.

Bizarre....
I noticed exactly the same this afternoon on my 17" 392s with the winter tyres on.

My F30 is 15 months old and I was contemplating calling BMW to see if covered under warranty......not sure what they will say since I've put winter tyres on ..

403s for those that are interested. As above, I've had similar in other BMW wheels- I'd be surprised if it was wheel specific.

It's the same behind every wheel, if you take off even just a few weeks old wheel there's rust behind its a shame they haven't treated that area
