Ok guys,

I've registered with connected drive on the BMW site. I've received my username and password. I've downloaded the app to my phone and logged in.

My BMW appears when logged in but i have literally no functions. No lock / unlock, no control of lights or climate and cannot locate my car.

I've deleted and reinstalled the app and its still the same.

What am i doing wrong?

Nowt......it can take a few days before you can use all the functions.

Possible silly question and as I don't have my car yet so I am likely to be wrong, but I thought the app for closing the car was "my BMW remote" not the connected 1??

Yes it is, the Connected Drive app is the one you use to directly connect up to the car via cable or snap-in adapter, it syncs up to Idrive to provide a load of additional features (Twitter, Facebook, Last Mile, Web Radio, Eco Pro diagnostics and so on).

As Rodders said it may take a couple of days, however is it definitely looking ok in the ConnectedDrive portal? ie can you see it listed under Settings > Manage Smartphones and have you activated remote services from Settings > Security settings > Activate Remote Services (if so you should see the services listed there with a tick box next to your car)

It is the bmw remote i have.

Are those setting on the car mate?

Don't worry Daz...it will start to work...just give it time. It took mine 3 or 4 days then all of a sudden everything on the BMW remote app worked. Other posters have said the same too.

Here's a tip to anyone else picking up their car soon, once you get your VIN number from the dealer you can register for connected drive (I'm sure I did this!). Then it will all be ready for when you pick up the car.

Sorry this doesn't help you daz, but it may help others get up and running for when they get their car.

Its cool guys. I got it working.

Hadn't set it up via the website properly. Thanks for the advice.

I have now succeeded in flashing the lights about 10 times whilst i look out the window! Lol.

I just done this as well. Might come in handy one day location is pretty cool and locking etc. do I get more widget choices now? It is not 100% clear (to me) what connected drive is etc etc

I have got vehicle position but nothing else on the app. Under 'Control' I just get 'Online search powered by Google' - is this where I should get the 'light flashing' and 'fan blowing' etc ??

I was the same mate. You need to activate is via the connected drive section on the BMW website.

Mine worked fine after that.

Thanks, I had done the first bit allowing 'send to car' but now see the extra 'security settings' section to enable the other remote services. I will activate all that, when the website is working........! Many thanks.

Dealer sorted it for me and I got 2 text messages about 4 working days later with the username and initial password.

Is connected drive available on all cars as standard or only part of the NAV Plus and Pro packs.
