Description: DINANTRONICS Sport is the boost controller for the masses. Its simple design/execution allows for easy installation/removal that can be performed in a blink of an eye and yields results you will be sure to feel, and enjoy, from the get go. Coupled with Bluetooth capabilities right out of the box that allows for user controlled adjustability and a live boost monitor to keep track of the action its a value proposition that is unequaled in the marketplace. DINANTRONICS Sport plugs into a single sensor which lends itself to a very quick and and discrete installation, or removal, should the need arise. Not only does this connection method offer a simplified install but also effectively utilizes the factory DME, in tandem with itself, in order to re-map boost, fueling, and timing for optimal performance. Once installed DINANTRONICS Sport enjoys connectivity to various smartphone devices courtesy of its built-in Bluetooth Smart system. From the free app one has the freedom to reduce stock boost for valet duties or crank up the boost all the way up to the "race" setting for maximum enjoyment... or anywhere in between. Regardless of what setting is chosen there is a power level for everyone. Also within the app the end user has access to a live boost monitor which streams boost data in real time to the phone very similar in appearance to the sport gauges on the iDrive. Not only will you be able to feel the difference but now you can see it as well! Perhaps best of all, the unit automatically detects which engine it is installed upon and loads the appropriate mapping. Effectively making a single unit compatible with an extremely wide range of applications making switching to a new vehicle, sharing with another, or selling the unit a breeze. We simply keep getting asked to provide a cheap low cost alternative then our norm so we did so. Its a simple entry level tuning device with some fun features but holds no matching warranty in order to meet the significantly reduced price point. It is not intended to be stacked onto the full blown DINANTRONICS and has never been attempted as such so I don't know exactly what would happen, if anything. |

Very interesting product.
At a mere $300 price point for 30hp/40tq plus Dinan name, I see this tune eating away BMS 1 market share

Auto detects engine
controls boost, fuel and timing built in bluetooth and free app for $300?!!! and may actually be legal for use in cali in the future!? dinan finally has something to offer for the "bang-for-the-buck" type crowd. This is awesome! |

Yeah... I'm looking at getting the MPPK installed next week but this sounds awesome. Does it work in combination with the MPPK at all? (Any benefit to it? Even if minor)
I'd assume I keep the supposed transmission changes and and burble but the boost would be controlled by the Dinan part? Last edited by Tyresian; 07-09-2016 at 10:58 AM.. |

Can someone explain to me BMS Stage 1 vs JB4 Map 1 vs Dinan S1 vs DINANTRONICS Sport
Correct me if I am wrong but both BMS S1 and JB4 have pretty the same connections under the hood (2 sensors, not counting the optional flex fuel), OBD port is also pretty much optional and made in order to control/switch maps (if OBD is not connected JB4 is running Map 1). Meanwhile Dinan S1 tune connects to engine ECU, so how does JB4, BMS Stage 1, and now this Dinan Sport (utilizing 1 sensor) control all other aspects besides tempering with MAF and Boost pressure |

Where/when can I buy one? (Found it, you can buy directly from dinancars.com)
Install guide? (Found it, link) When will the iOS app be released? But most importantly: How does this compare to / differ from BMS Stage 1? I'd be very interested to see comparison charts and hear real world reviews. Nice work Dinan! Last edited by dr.roro; 07-09-2016 at 12:52 PM.. |

Stage 1 tunes in general connect to 2 sensors (TMAP, MAP) while SPORT connects to 1 (TMAP). We found that in some applications (N20/N55 BMW as an example) that you could get the bulk of the power gains by simply plugging into this one sensor. On other platforms (such as Audi) in order to get any meaningful gains you needed to plug into both. Only using one yielded very minimal results. In order to keep the price point as attractive as possible it made sense to just do the one connector for applications it made sense to do so since thats where the power was anyway. In this price range we are the only device to offer bluetooth functionality (for free) that allows the user to adjust power levels (valet -3 PSI, stock, sport ~+2 PSI, sport+ ~+3 PSI, race ~+4 PSI). It should be noted that all advertised numbers you see are in the Sport + setting and not in "race"... we ship it in sport + as well as depending on fuel quality and what not the race setting may not agree with the car and you may need to turn the power down. So in theory you can get more power then what we are advertising. The bluetooth functionality also give a live boost monitor so you can see what boost the car is ACTUALLY making as its taking data directly from the sensor and not though the OBD port. SPORT is also now the cheapest tuning solution on the block as far as I am aware to boot. Last edited by Dinan_Engineering; 08-23-2016 at 02:33 PM.. |

Is this going to be released for the B58? I suppose it would stack on the mppk?

So what exactly does this Sport tune do ? Just fools MAP to give more boost ? What about all other stuff, fuel mixture, timing etc ?
And same question on Dinan Stage 1....unlike Sport it connects to engine ECU right ? and I assume this makes it capable of changing other engine values ? I know this is Dinan thread, but just curious how JB4 works as well since I think it only connects to 2 sensors under the hood and OBD port inside (previous JB4 connected to ECU as well I believe). So does this change all value via OBD or OBD is just for switching maps and you really only need 2 sensors to control everything, fuel, timing, etc |

A little concerning "race mode may not agree with your car." If it's only 4 psi instead of 3 psi in sport+ it makes me wonder about the product. BMS Stage 1 is 3.5 psi and JB4 Map 1 is 4 psi and neither of those have issues.
If 4 psi was doable and consistent you'd think the dyno's would have been done in race mode. Also, seems like from the forums those with Dinan tunes haven't ended up with the same advertised gains. I'd love to see the same car run a dyno with BMS Stage 1 versus Dinan Sport. However, I am intrigued. . .

My dealer doesn't care about my jb4, or my chargepipe, which they installed or my e85 usage.
