DIY- Black Exhaust ends- no more constantly cleaning chrome pipes.

I was going to get the black chrome tips cause the chrome ones show all the black exhaust stuff always and I am sick of cleaning it. Also over time it just eats away at the chrome and looks like crap anyways.

I figure before I spend forever banging the damn tips off my car with a rubber mallet (tried it, those bastards are on pretty good). I would clear up the problematic area only as I do still like the chrome.

Decided to just coat the ends of the exhaust and leave the rest chrome. I took some 3" wide tape and covered the sides so the tape stood out about 2" off the exhaust. Leaving the painted part un tapped. It was nice because I didnt need to wast time lining anything up I just put tape around the edge of the exhaust and it did all the lining up for me.

Grabbed a can of black grill paint and did a few coats. Came out pretty decent for a quick project.

The lines you see are the water from the exhaust, the pain is dry at the point of the pic was taken.

Wiping alone doesn't work on mine... I have a cleaning product and a cloth lying in my trunk just for the damn exhaust tips...

I hate constantly wiping them off. But in person they do look a bit better I will say. By no means perfect.
