Tbf it was proportionally better than the 1st

But I hear you, there's nothing new in there - it would be interesting if they went round the world, different manufacturer in each place, mainstream or niche and they test, rate etc...

I watched Columbia Pt 1 last night and switched off after 20 minutes. It really was very tired indeed - the ideas bin is apparently empty.

Its a shame because the bits that are actually about cars are quite good imo. If every episode was 3 cars from different segments, hot hatch, supercar, SUV or something id watch it more. The "specials" are shite.

It was shite, the first episode with muscle cars was a million times better.

Same here. It's been done before and is somewhat scripted but it still made me laugh a few times and it was nice to see some of the parts of Colombia I haven't visited yet. It's a beautiful country.

Will Young has got the arse due to homophobic comments about the Jeep....

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...p-segment.html

I guess if you are easily offended, then you don't watch these 3 in the first place?

Thought the Columbia pt1 was a bit boring but pt2 was better and I got a couple of laughs out of it.

If you compare if with some of the TG specials they were doing around 10 years ago though it was quite poor.

Someone off here said it's just a bunch of old men getting injured all the time. Possibly Teaspoon. Anyhow, I watched it but I don't think I will be watching anymore. It's more about the banter than cars.

I do wonder however, are the Amazon viewers statistics higher than the Beeb? I would ask my nephew but he left to go and work for Sky.

I wasn't offended by it, but I did sit there thinking, seriously, are gay jokes the best you can do?

And let's not pretend it was an accident. They play the part of buffoons well, but they are not buffoons. They will all have discussed the pros and cons first.

And more importantly, offended or not, did anyone think it was funny? I switched off bored, I wasn't offended, but I was bored to tears by their lack of originality with the whole show. And I don't get it, when Clarkson is writing for magazines and newspapers, he is laugh out loud funny.

I agree. Wanted to like it, but was bored and switched off.
I enjoyed the first episode, but episode 2 was very very dull.. So scripted, and not even scripted that well.. Constant references to what can they grow here... look at the nice boats etc...

I dont mind it, reminds me of Top Gear when they were the presenters.

However, I wont be renewing my Prime subscription purely for The Grand Tour.

Vikings is finished now, so it will be getting the cancel button pressed.

Was just going to say the same, and about 9 months pregnant at that. Definitely the last series of this crap, because he looks like he's only got a couple of months to live anyway, whatever's going on in there can't be good.

I see that Clarkson has responded to Will Young's comments:

"...I will apologise to Will for causing him some upset and reassure him that I know I’m not homophobic as I very much enjoy watching lesbians on the internet.”

Ahh the causal homophobia of Clarkson/May/Hammond comes out again. Nothing overt just the subtle mocking and nudge nudge, wink wink laughing at gay men. I'm sure in the production meeting full of white, heterosexual middle aged men it was hilarious.
