My car came with a 6.5" display and HU_ENTRYNAV (without navigation) but I have since retrofitted NBT and added an Avin 10.25" Android display. I then decided I didn't need the 8.8" display that came with my NBT hardware that I purchased so I decided to sell it on eBay.

A couple of days after it was delivered I had a message from the buyer claiming that it didn't work so naturally, my suspicion was that I had been scammed and I thought that they'd gut swapped the unit leaving me with something broken. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the screen actually still works perfectly so I went back to the buyer and double-checked what the situation was.

He claims that he has HU_ENTRYNAV and was getting 'no signal' messages from my screen even after a so-called 'professional' had coded the head unit to use the display. He then says that he bought another screen and that one is working fine. However, I know that my screen worked with my HU_ENTRYNAV before I took it out of the car and I have since tested it on two NBT units and it works perfectly with both.

My screen has part number 9292248 on the label which I believe would mean its full part number is 65509292248. Is anyone aware of any weird compatibility issues with these screens and specific units, or is it just likely that the buyer was an idiot? Just curious if there's any way he wasn't being an idiot and that there was some odd issue before I try selling it on again.

Mine said no signal as well after following the instructions and found one addition thing I needed to code to get it working. Or he could just be wrong on what set up he had.

Just ask for the HU type he has (if is HU entry nav 1 or 2, and production date) or code or a picture of the CID he buied and worked well to double check what's wrong with your

Good morning F30 community. New to the forum. I recently purchased an F30 (man’f : June 2013) for my wife. Car comes with a low res 6.5” screen and Navigation. The details are CHAMP 2 head-unit, S606A Navigation System Business. An installer here (London UK) said you cannot nice to an 8.5” screen period - however, I disagree. Seeing you chaps in the USA seem to be miles head on these upgrades can anyone on help as I am an electronics engineer, so would love the challenge to a) resolve this for our F30 and b) I am sure help other legacy installations? It is very difficult to get any good information on any site. You get what someone maybe trying to do, not all the information and things that do not help at all. Number of versions of cars...
where is the straight forward answer. "Here is what you need to know"
With out needing to hookup a cable to see what you have! My god, the dealer information should be given or some way that you can find this with out, with out everything else to do. IE software, buy parts etc..
I would like to know what I need to identify what I have. Is this pictures, is this vin numbers and pictures. What...

Sorry I'm by no means a pro here. I swapped the car before changing the screens. I have also swapped the system on my new car. New system and new screen might be needed for you as well

CHAMP2 does not support the OEM 8.8" screen, however a 3rd party screen (e.g., BimmerTech's VividScreen) should work okay, given that the picture will be a little stretched.

I think yes (BimmerCode should also work), however eSys and an ENET cable is strongly recommended instead.

I have a 2016 F33 with entry nav and no navigation. My 6 inch screen is model # 9270393. Insatlled a new 8 inch screen # 9387453. I am able to get video but it is cut off. I think i coded correctly with Bimmercode .
I added photo to show. What am i doing wrong?

I've seen this happen once - not sure whether it was a faulty screen or not, because the guy didn't post back. If you can, return the screen and try part no. 9292248.

You can try checking if your resolution is set correctly:

HU_ENTRYNAV > EXBOX > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = "8.8_1280x480"

Make sure you use eSys and an ENET cable adapter.

I too have this issue, BMW F30 manufacture Jan 2015 with HU ENTRY_NAV.

I bought a 10.25 android 9.0 unit and I seemed to have tried all the settings on Bimmercode for screen size and brietes display, but it just does not work correctly on the screen on the IDRIVE side.

I came from the 6.5 screen.

Any ideas?

To add to the complexity, I have installed the new carplay mmi prime from bimmertech and the carplay shows up perfect on the new 8.8 inch screen. Trying to work with bimmertech for a soultion, but will probably try the pre-lci screen part number you mentioned and return the one I have. Will keep you updated.

Android screens are out of scope of this thread, but I guess you have a similar problem.
