I pre-ordered these as soon as I got the email, have been anticipating this for a while now I'm curious as to how they improved them so much without a separate or upgraded amplifier (I have the US stock Hi-Fi)

I think worst case I will order the Bimmertech PnP amp down the road if I'm not happy with this upgrades power. Just don't really want to spend another $800 right now before giving the Ghosts a chance first.

I know many people, including technic, have said it is best to start with an amp upgrade for the best bang for your buck improvement but I am still happy to have upgraded to the Stage 1 Bavsounds. Here's to hoping the woofers are just as noticeable an improvement

Guess were all on different path to the same target bs1 then bimmertech amp then bavsound woofers here.

It will be interesting to know how they will sound using the stock amp. They were designed to sound good on stock amp as per bavsound.

That being said the bimmertech DSP amp was a huge addition to my BSW STG 1

Any more updates on these subs? I'm very curious to see if these subs are worth the money on the stock amp. Or if its goin to be tough to add another amp.

The subs will only be ready after Nov 30th and they just did the 2nd pre-order. Long wait....

I have the HK audio in my 428i coupe -not sure if it's 100% worth me upgrading to Bavsound Stage 1 at this stage.

But can anyone see issues with me putting the Ghost subs with the HK audio?

I'm in exactly the same boat as you....but I plan to wait until January once there is some feedback on these.

I think the system as it stands is great but lacks a lot of punch. I'm hoping the under seat upgrades fix this.

Once I have the speakers, the next step will be an amp, but speakers are where the quality lies so it's this step I want to solve first.

Hey Mate.

Are you currently running stock (base) system then? Or have you gone Stage 1 already?

I'd be concerned with adding any speaker upgrades without adding (not even sure the base system has an amp???) replacing a decent amp....

Literally I'm just doing all my homework on this before making a fully informed decisson!

I have the same setup. Base system with no additional amp in the trunk or no tweeters on front doors.

Have ordered Bavsound stage 1 which includes front door tweeters and mid ranges for all 4 doors, pre-ordered new under seat Ghost subs, Bimmertech match amp and PnP harness from Bimmertech on order too, for hooking up all of the above. Plus I plan to upgrade to NBT professional unit with touch iDrive controller when installing the above setup.

I will be doing this only in say Feb next year and I guess this upgrade will take care of the sound needs which is quite inadequate as of now.

It's not as bad as you think.

Technic had a great write up that I followed when installing the Earthquake SWS subs.

it is very easy to DIY this and not need to unplug the seat cable to install

It's easy enough to do. I did it on my E87 when installing my Alpine Audio kit. (Much easier on the E series cars).

However, all you need to do is unbolt four bolts on the seat rail and tilt the seat back. Do what you need to do and put the bolts back in again and you're done.

There's no need to unplug the airbag, but like everything it's always best to unplug the battery when doing any electrical changes.

Called Bavsound, since I was pretty bummed to have to wait yet another 2 months.
