new to me '16 328i stalls while driving

Car is a 2016 328i. 51K on the odometer, N26 powered. Haven't had the car that long. This weekend, I experienced the same symptoms three times.

While cruising, in either comfort or Sport mode, the engine shudders, I lose power, and the engine completely shut off. I coasted to the side of the road, shut the car completely off, restarted it, made it to where I was going. Two times I got the 'drivetrain malfunction' error on iDrive, the third time no error. When I shut the car completely off and restart it, everything goes back to normal.

Not my first BMW, and unfortunately not my first BMW related limp-mode experience. I don't expect anyone to be able to diagnose my issue, I intend to get codes pulled this week. I'm just curious if any other N20/N26 owners have experienced a similar issue and what the fix ended up being. A search of this forum (and others) didn't turn up much.

TIA.

I had a similar experience on my F32 N20 around 40k miles. Had a couple of faults related to the electric cooling fans. Fortunately it was still under warranty when it happened so the dealer just swapped it out and had me back on the road when the part came in. In hindsight it wasn't a huge issue but it definitely had me worried for a minute.

Update:

failed in tank fuel pump and EKPS. I get the car back tomorrow, hopefully this solves it.
