could someone please confirm whether there are any free generators for Evo ID4, and if so, what I will need to generate the FSC?

I think my NBT should be Evo ID4, so I have obtained the 0xf0 file using e-sys and I've been trying Jagaer's generator v1.9, but none of the generated codes work (tried both 2018-4 and lifetime).

Car is a 2016 F36 (VIN G139344), and I am trying to update to "Europe Evo 2018-4" map. The car is an import from North America, would that be causing any issues? It already works fine for Europe, and it currently has "Europe Evo 2017-1" map on it.

Is there still no working generator for HU_ENTRYNAV Route maps? Will there ever be?

And can it really be true that I cannot find any newer maps than 2018-1 for the same nav?

Correct, there is no working ROUTE nor EVO FSC Gen available.

Europe ROUTE 2018-1 is latest release.

Weird about the map too, since other version has come with 2019-1 already

I doubt it. It has been 5 years now and it has not happened. Not great demand for ROUTE compared to others, and ENTRYNAV Head unit is ARM based instead of Intel, making development undesirable.

As for Map, not weird really. Map releases are all across the board, and maps are developed by different 3rd party companies who's schedules have nothing to do with each other.
