HELP diagnosing faulty oil level measuring

Hi

I realised after having driven 4000km since last oil change that the iDrive oil level measurement does not work (I know that the engine oil temp must be above 90°C for it to measure).

Car has two codes:
1C4119 - Engine oil temp sensor malfunction
201004 - CBS client, output of substitute value

When starting the car is also says that oil has not bee changed since 90000km which is obviusly not correct and can happen sometimes when flashing with MHD as I understand it, so maybe the CBS fault is a result of this? Car is running MHD and xHP tunes.

Oil level sensor 12617638341 AND oil temp sensor 13627580635 (in the engine block) has been changed but problem remain

Is it somehow possible to check with ISTA when these errors first appeared? Is there a history log stored somewhere?

According to the BMW testing procedures you will get the 201004 code when the oil level sensor malfunctions and the repair procedure is to replace that sensor.

Problem solved!!!

The CBS/service counter was reset and everything work now. Probably changed the oil level sensor for nothing but those are prone to fail anyway so all good.

Being able to measure oil level make me very happy for some strange reason

I'm having a similar issue. I have the same codes and I've ordered the parts. My question is where is the temp sensor on the block? Also, my temp gauge will randomly jump around and the car will give me two warnings first to drive moderately then shortly after will go into limp mode. If I turn the car off and back on its as if the car was never over heating.

Did you perform oil service reset after replacing the parts? I don't know if that will make a difference, but it's worth a try.
