Not looking for a fight bud, just looking for some facts from the tuner you compared MHD to.

No fight... just like to inform people of the facts... Again... what the tuner says is "hearsay" ... graphs compared to butt dyno and verification of actually passing tests is facts... (butt dyno close enough for me...lol)

So basically the downpipe is what decides whether you load stage 1 or stage 2?

If you have downpipe with others you can run stage 2 otherwise go stage 1..

I'm not saying to do it but MHD has said as long as your not on the track or autobahn or wot for long periods of time it's okay to use stock cat... I still have my cat on and running stage2+ 95... but I did buy a fabspeed pipe... just waiting for it to warm up a little before I take it out of the garage to go get it installed...

I think I'm gonna get one just deciding how soon I need to spend the cash.

I could do other bolt ons and stage 1 then get the down pipe and go stage 2 in a few months or something. When it warms up.

Sooner the better, all that horsepower needs to be free'd up. You can't cage the beast.

This is very true. Maybe should just do it all at once.

My plan was to just run JB+ until I learned more about the more advanced options.

Any opinions or insights regarding that chip? I think someone was saying that raising boost pressure without adjusting other variables wasn't the best idea? All these threads starting to merge together lol

Thanks

Is there a self tuning software option or are these vehicles tuning monopolized?

BM3 is open sourced, you can access the tables and tune it yourself

If you dare haha But indeed very very cool. Just start comparing maps from MPPK/stock and you can see how BMW has tuned the car

Well...I suppose being "boring" is subjective....while, hating your money soo much you chose DINAN for your "tuning" platform is objective...

And by open sourced, do you mean not have to pay one of the selected shop/tuners and have them do it? So it is possible to self tune or have someone else at one’s choosing be able to tune?

Just money at the end of the day, had it done when I bought the car and under warranty. You should see what I spend on my sneaker habit and clothes No regrets as you can see been using DINAN for over 15 years dating back to my supercharged e36 m3 which was a Rockit

COMPLETELY different DINAN back then...DINAN changed when Steve left and the realization they couldn't crack the new DME's

I would not recommend doing so unless user is familiar with BMW tuning, things can go wrong really fast
