My 1st Issue with the F30!
Today I stopped at a gas station, and filled her up. As I was getting out I go to roll up my window with the auto up, and it goes all the way up BUT the window comes back down half way and stops! I think oh well ill just be outside the car pumping gas anyway, no biggie. But it gets worse.
So I get home, I go to roll the window up via auto up and it wont go up! I just hold it regular and it goes up. Im like what the hell . I press it auto down and it rolls down fine. BUT on auto up it wont roll. Then for a brief period after I rolled it all the way up it wouldn't do any damn thing. Not up or down. All the other windows work just fine. It even rolls up when I lock the doors while putting my finger on the exterior door handle (comfort access). But just not auto up. Not even 2 weeks into owning it. DAMN! And I have a trip to Wisconisn Dells coming up on the 28th, no way will they be able to fix it if it need's a new switch. Im pitching a big Bitch to the dealer tomorrow....I hope this isnt a bad sign to future issues with this car, I really love it.

This would occasionally happen with my jag and it had to do with the computer for the window. Now that they are "pinch proof" they actually have computers. To reset it you had to turn on the key, hold the button to roll the window all the way up and then all the way down. Not sure how to do it on BMW but they can tell you over the phone if it's the same issue.

it happens in my 08 brand new civic... it caused by the lack of lubricant in the window seal. when u lube it with silicon spray, it will work fine again... since your window cant move up smoothly, the sensor "think" there are obstacle preventing the window to shut, hence the "error" you encounter.

Sounds like my e90 but rear windows. The regulator belts eventually snapped and had to be replaced at 220 a window. First the left rear then the right one about two weeks ago. This happened to a lot of e90s. Hope this is not the issue on the f30s.

UPDATE:
Finally got a chance to try to reset the switch, and before I did the reset, I rolled the window down and auto up just to see and it worked fine! WTF. I tried it a few times and worked like nothing ever happened. I reset the switch like the FAQ stated, and we shall see what happens.... ![]()

why do people do this? it's not their fault this happened. just explain the problem and let them try to fix it. i've worked in customer service and some people are just like this and want to ruin your day. it made me feel like shit and i lost faith in humanity. there is no reason to be like that.

But honestly there are other issues with this car that I havent even mentioned yet on here because Im giving them a chance to fix it.... 1st When I brought the car home I was checking it out in more detail and I noticed that the right front tire was mismatched, yes an incorrect tire. The tires on the car are Pirelli and the right front is a good year. I called them they admitted to swapping out my original right front rim and tire for a customer that made a purchase before me of the same model, and the tire had been damaged. So they stole my oem tire and gave me another one. So now im waiting on it for 2 weeks, they are dragging their feet. See where Im going with this. ![]() Then Everytime my moonroof is in tilt position there is a very loud noise inside the headliner like something is moving around/rubbing almost a metal sound. So Im just a little irritated at this point, I just want if fixed. The window just put me over the top...and Im just losing my patience. And to add they hired another Service clerk and he sucks, he must have come from Dodge, he has no customer service skills, and he treated my girlfriend like shit, wich Im still pissed about, when she took her car in. Im not saying 57,000k is the worlds most expensive car but to me its alot of damn money on a midsize sedan, and I expect to be treated with a little more respect when I drop that every 3 years. Id like my issues resolved as soon as possible.

The tire thing would irritate me. That's just NOT good. These cars are supposed to have a delivery inspection and that should have been caught if the person doing the check actually pays attention. I know these little things can get annoying especially one a spanking new car. But, it does happen. I've had excellent service from that dealership. I didn't know they got a new service manager. The last guy was very good and professional and polite. Are you keeping the summer performance tires? Are you going with a summer and winter set? My Msport is coming with summer performance, but I'l be switching to ultra high perf all seasons around Oct. or early Nov. Your feisty Serbian is coming through clearly. ![]() Ebem mu maiku! Did I get that right? It's a bit different in Macedonian. |

The grinding sound in the moonroof area was the air curtain tethers rubbing against the headliner, So being in the automotive industry I have squeak n rattle tape I used it and it worked great. They told me today that the tire will be in on Thursday. I fixed the plastic behind the seat it was warped and there was a gap between it and the leather. Fixed the front b pillar appliqués the were sticking out too far uneven with the back doors, used a heat gun on that. Then the dashboard center vent had a rattle at 3k rpm took that apart and used squeak n rattle tape to fix it. So yeah I've had this god damn car apart quite a bit to fix it to my standard. It's just getting irritating. BMW should have paid more attention to detail in this department. But none the less it makes me love this car so much more now that I actually put my hands on it and fixed it the way It should be.
