There was an issue 5 months into ownership at approximately 13K kms I had a check engine light, the problem was a 'metering wire' whatever that was, fixed under warrantee. I have had a second check engine light a month ago, on the same trip, but it has apparently fixed itself, or the light has burnt out, either way, problem solved. The car seems reasonably well built, it has a few rattles and more wind noise than my Ford (although my Ford was built in Germany).

I have, and continue to enjoy the car, and it gets great mileage, however I am planning on turning it in when the lease is done. I am almost exactly half way through my 3 year lease. As cars are one of my favorite things, I have been thinking about what I am going to get next. I had considered getting another F31 prior to BMW ceasing to import them into North America. I have decided I won't be getting another BMW for the following reasons;

- Joy per dollar is a stretched proposition.
- Numb steering
- Not thrilled with BMW's design direction, it's a personal thing, but for example, I thought the F10 had almost perfect proportions and looked good from any angle. The G30, while not an ugly car, is bland at best with far too much plastic chrome.
- The electronics offerings 'connected drive' are over priced and somewhat disappointing (at least in Canada).
- Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo

Ironically, the more cars BMW seems to offer, the fewer I find myself interested in. Basically the only cars I have any interest in are the M2 and the i8. I am hopeful that some time in the future, maybe when they have 100 different models to choose from, I will find another BMW compelling enough to buy another one.

We have 82 BMW models for sale in Hong Kong, you may find one that suits you. they try to cover all markets here, but the best selling 220i Grand Tour 7-seater attracted lots of housewives, with their driving style, ruined the image BMW built over time.
Besides, our 2017 330i is same price as our 1992 325i when it was new, where is inflation? Strong US dollars covered it up?

the n20 also isnt as reliable. he will enjoy his n52 at 70k miles when it doesnt explode.

its pretty well documented on this very forum, you can find posts about it. the n20 is a piece of shit little buzzbox just waiting to eat its plastic timing chain guides and destroy itself.
You arent Canadian are you? There is this really annoying Canadian troll on Bimmerfest with an old 5 series with the n52 engine and all he does is troll f30 threads talking about how shitty the engine he doesn't have is. Its really pathetic. Good thing that's not you and you have far better things to do with your time than be a troll on a car forum. This particular troll called himself 'drift slut'. If that isn't completely dorky, I don't know what is. LOL, just drifting like crazy in that land yacht of a bloated old man car with the straight six that will get left in the dust all day long by a 328 with that piece of shit buzzbox n20 engine.

Again, good thing thats not you and you have much better things to do with your time

Wow 82 models, there's a lot! bmwusa probably only offers 60-70 variants.

Man I can't get over the fact that it's so hard to get assistance from BMW. Had to call roadside, connected drive for a flat. All contact info had taken me to BMW USA. Which is great....IF you're in the USA. I think there is a thing called the rest of the world. Would've have thought BMW would have considered that when creating their websites. Great engineering otherwise, but someone seriously needs help in their IT department.

Really? The E90 (I had a 335i Sedan) had MASSIVE failures of HPFP and injectors...go back and read the threads.

I paid for it but even excluding my complete nightmare, they had major high pressure fuel system design issues with that motor. Just saying...

F36 28i here just celebrated 2 years nearing 30k kilometers and zero issues other than a free software upgrade because the iDrive rebooted itself once during a drive! Very happy with the car

Coded A/SS to off though.. hate that

FZD module replaced at 49k. Sunroof was not opening correctly. Never completely failed but would often take several button pushes to open it all the way.

Luckily in the US 2014 and up defaults to last setting. My 2013 was reprogrammed one-time courtesy to last setting within warranty.

Hate to reopen an old thread, however I am the proud owner of a 2015 428i Convertible, and I have just crossed over 60,000 trouble free miles. Just new pads and rotors installed this month and normal maintenance. I love this car!

I'm sure they are more reliable than other models, although I am curious how the car's will do age wise vs milage. With BMWs its usually the plastic parts that you need to worry about over time, the engines are great, its just usually little things that add up to big costs/repairs (like the plastic/electronic water pumps, hoses, etc.)

I've got a '12 with 75k, I've had to replace the thermostat. But I had the extended thermostat warranty so BMW covered it in Sep of last year

Sold my F30 328 with 120k on it, no issues and was still running strong. I'm now in a 335 and again, all good so far into its young career.

Just flipped 90k a few weeks ago. Bought the car 2 years ago at 71k and haven't had any issues. The only thing I've done is normal maintenance like oil changes every 5k. Super reliable so far.
