Aluminum FTP Chargepipe Installed

What's up Bimmer fam Just upgraded my plastic stock charge pipe to an aluminum one from FTP (picked up from Kies Motorsports.) Pretty darn easy install. I also picked up an extended silicone coupler by HPS to connect the bottom and top parts of the chargepipe, which is more robust and will ensure nothing pops loose when I turn up the boost. Everyone says that the stock chargepipe on the B58 is stronger than the one on the N54/N55, but this will give me added peace of mind down the line, especially since I plan on tuning soon.

Nice!

What tune are you going with? And have you done any exhaust mods? I ask because there are no axleback or catback systems that fit the F34. The exhaust tips need to be extended to accommodate the longer size of the F34.

I'm choosing to go with Bootmod3 for the tune, and no exhaust mods other than a high flow downpipe as of yet. I think the pipe extensions should be easy work for a good muffler shop to take care of, so I'm pretty sure the exhausts from the F30s will fit with that exception. I can't imagine BMW would want to make the exhausts that much different for cost purposes, so, to your point, I think the tips behind the muffler on the F34 exhaust are probably just a bit longer than the F30 tips from factory. We will find out soon enough!! Cheers brother !

Thanks for sharing, we need more B58 modders on here!

I’ve been looking at exhausts as well and as you state, the consensus seems to be an ordinary F30 340i B58 muffler will bolt right up, except the tips themselves will be too short - and will have to be extended. Nobody has seemed to confirm that however, and there are very few F34 B58 muffler specific threads.
