That video makes the GC look like it's the more docile 4er that can't do the same stunts as the M4. It would have been nicer to see both stunting around and filming each other.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one that loves a silver GC.

I enjoyed the video ..

I'm pretty sure The M4 was filming the 4 series GC because it wishes it also was made as a GC ..

other than that .. it seems pretty incongruous that an M4 two door coupe was following a four door 4 series sedan . .. ..oops gran coupe

Just another reminder from BMW.. that only would have been possible if there were an M4 gran coupe available ...

Now THAT'S a commercial for an M4 I can get behind

Brings back the vibe from the old E39 M5 filming the rocket car.

I drove a 4 series GC as a loaner while my M3 was getting some m performance goodies installed. The GC felt quick off the line but not so much when already moving. I also felt a little too bouncy or cushy which didn't inspire a "take me to a track to see what I can do" emotion. It's a nice car but it shouldn't be compared to the M3/4.

But of course... the M4 is in a totally other league. But the 4GC is no slouch either, especially if optioned correctly.

c'mon man, let's be real. it just wouldn't make any business sense to show a lower model matching your top model. if the video had your mcoupe drifting around town and a 118i was hanging on it's tail, you'd probably feel differently.

That was not the intent of my original response on the topic. BOTH can be playful, with the M4 OBVIOUSLY the hooner. I understand that BMWs ultimate message to the viewer is that it caters to all buyers with the spectrum of muted conservatism or batshit crazy sportiness.

And for the record, the classic MCoupe is beyond anything BMW currently makes.

Who says they're comparing anything? Its the 4 LCI...they didn't need a 4 series coupe in the commercial given that they had the M4. It's just a segment to introduce the new version.

People in this thread are comparing. I'm saying they shouldn't. Each car has a different audience.
