Wheels - 2018 LCI F36 xDrive Gran Coupe

Hi guys,

Trying to figure out what to do for wheels, especially with the harsh Eastern Canadian winters. I've definitely done my research but I'd like to get a second opinion from you all.

Option 1:
- Keep stock 704M wheels
- Buy winter wheels

Option 2:
- Buy aftermarket summer wheels
- Make 704m winter wheels

Budget, without tires: ~$2000 CAD

In either option I want to try and stay away from suspension mods like lowering and adding spacers to flush the look. I like the way the car drives and I don't want to mess with its dynamics.

If its possible to close the wheel gap simply by the choice of wheel, then that would be great.

Any recommendations on which option you would pick? If so, what wheels do you recommend?

Thanks!

Faced with a similar decision last Fall, I went with your Option 1. My main driver was I wanted to drop down to 18s in an square set-up for winter. So the 442Ms got the summers.

What 18's did you end up getting for winter?

Gloss-black Sparco Podio HLTs, 18x8 et29 all around. I liked that they were TUV certified for the BMW 4 Gran Coupe by OZ, and they had OZ's "Winter Proof" paint, which has held up great. And that they fit over my M Brakes, and without centering rings using OE hardware. At 24lbs, they're not the lightest, but they're not heavy (28lbs+) either. Their offset provides a flush fitment.

I outfitted them with non-runflat Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4s in 245/40-18 (which is an included tire size cited for this wheel on a 4GC in the TUV Certificate).

Very happy with the combo.
