If the AZ vaccine wasn't a UK developed one you bet it would be a different story!

Both Pfizer and Moderna have boosters that they are working on or possibly ready to test. I know we have asked that if they are going to do trials, can we run another trial through our school? I don't know their time line, but it would not surprise me if there was a fall release. A booster for the holidays; just a guess. There is no reason the booster won't work, since it basically mimics what they have already done with their existing vaccines.

COVID Vaccine
Wow they must be smashing them out!
I'm pretty certain when I tried to book mine last week it said No straight after the DOB check but now proceeds on to ask if you work in social care before saying No ( I'm 44 and based in England ). Almost!

We are at 40.1% for at least one shot as a measure of the total population and over 50% for those 18 and older. We are at 26% for those fully vaccinated (whole population) and 33% for those fully vaccinated among the 18 and older crowd. We are hoping that the vaccine for 12 and older gets approved by May 1 and we want to start a vigorous vaccination effort in high schools before the end of the school year. Clinical trials are starting now for the 6 month to 11 year olds. Cheers, |

I got my 1st jab yesterday (47 based in the Midlands).
I was given the AZ vaccine and in all honesty I can't say I suffered from any real side effects. Felt fine yesterday and 24 hours later I've been for a run! |

Had my first (AZ) jab on February 26th and was told I'd be getting 2nd dose 12 weeks later, around May 21st. Yesterday I got asked to have my 2nd jab on May 2nd which will be just over 9 weeks apart. Had no side effects from the 1st jab other than a slightly sore arm for a day.
Amongst friends the interval seems to vary a lot. One friend had his 2nd dose after just 3 weeks!

Yep, he's 68 with no underlying health issues. Apparently his surgery just called him up on the day and asked if he could come in that evening. He had the Pfizer jab and I did wonder if it was a 'use it or lose it' thing but who knows
