2021 Quarter 2 - what deals have folk seen..?

Am guessing that some of us have been waiting out Q1 to see what BMW UK are going to be doing as regards deals/contributions/finance offers for Q2...

Just thought I would create a thread where we might share some of the things we find out...

The current 8gc offers make the 340i/440i offers look shocking.

No competition to me.

I remember raising a thread would you take a new 440i or delivery mileage 'used' 840i.

With the finance it's even closer.

Vardy had a used car deal for an X3 2.0 M Sport pop up on Facebook

£600+ per month with a chunky deposit as well

Cheaper buying a new one

Totally agree it's a better value deal but lot so people will need a sub 5m car and 4 or 5 actual seats.

I'm trying to sway Mr TP towards an 8 but he seems stuck on his SUVs. After this winter where we actually had snow he thinks we need to have at least one 4x4.

Those deals are stale been around for while, you can lease a 730d for £585 on a 1+47 profile.

The deals haven't really changed they are going for £ per unit rather than volume, chipset issues and slow working due to CV-19 are making that the best option for them.

That used to be 535 2 weeks ago! The lease sites are full of 7 series, the odd 520ds, m235i but not many decent 3er deals at present.
There is rumour Arval are restocking m340is again in Q2 so we shall see.
Used prices are just not budging and still stupid monthlies.

Not on a 1+47 profile it wasn't more like a 6+47 (which it still is) people need to factor in the deposit.

The 5 series are poor value as they have been recently no value there either, M340i are still stupidly priced and have been since launch, no deals now or before unless you think paying £700 a month for a 3 series before options is a good idea...

Used prices are silly as you say, the only option is to trade down and buy it correctly whilst this continues.

Yes agreed hence why I'm in a 320d for the interim!
Have to say I'm liking it more than I thought I would but certainly will only be signing up longer term on something that has more grunt and is petrol.

Some of the Q2 deals now appearing over on TRLs page at babybmw. Doesn't look like there's a whole lot of movement since last quarter. I'd sat on the X3M deal that @dazzapb posted and that's gone now with prices creeping back up

You can normally sense how good a deal it is via the thread being locked or not already

Looks like bmw are giving a bit of support to 3 series but not much over and above the 11% dealer margins.
Leasing is the way to go still I think for now.

I did notice the used saloon m340s pcp rates have re appeared on the bmw site but not the tourings.

My gut feeling so far is that there is not much change from Q1... maybe the odd bit of support here and there, on some models, but nothing range-wide...

Agree, spot offers, but not what we were used to. My gut feel remains that it will be this way for a long time, quite possibly the new normal. Every business has learned a lot from covid and adapted, it would be a great surprise to see car manufacturing simply revert to the old way. All IMHO.

Yes I agree. I had a nosey at TRL's offers and he mentions that a lot of things are factory order only and delviery isn't till July/August, so certainly seems like BMW and other manufacturers are selling what they can actually make at the moment. How much that is due to reduced overall production would be interesting to know. It could be for a multitude of reasons, from chip production shortages to longer term strategic decisions around profit per car.

I noticed that BMW certainly seem to be pushing pre-built, stock cars more now... Not only through their "find a new car" search thing, but also I noted they are promoting stock cars through CarWow... and none of the BMW dealers appear to be quoting on CarWow for bespoke builds...
