Ideal knock around family / dog walk car.
Oh, man, I have a really bad experience of a Jeep Cherokee rental car letting me down at the Nurburging a few years ago...

Hopped in the car to go out to another part of the track... Got there and the car would not turn off... Press the stop/start button and the vehicle said the shift lever was not in P (which it was) so would not shut down... so the engine would not stop... and no amount of shiftng/reshifting would cure it...

Called the ADAC and the guys on the truck, when they arrived, got out and proceeded to tell me (in finest "the customer is always stupid" mode) that all I needed to do was press the button...

try it, I said...

The car was still running when they had it on the truck driving it away...

It might still be running now, for all I know...

Rental car company tried to charge me for the gas...

Rental car company also would not provide a replacement unless I got a taxi to a town some kilometres away (Kerpen, I seem to remember)... "what you must realise, Mr XXX, is that you are in Germany now, not the United States, and so service is different..."... Charming...

I ended up paying the folk who ran my Gasthof to give me a ride to the airport on the Monday...

Cheers. I rang them and it's OK compared to other cyrrent lease deals but still a standard car factory order for Aug Sept... They have one with a tech pack but that's another 40 a month. Lots of m340i offers across the main dealerships but they all boil down to roughly the same on pcp.

Pretty strong offer on the X5 M50i at £799/£799. Niche product, but a lot of car (and performance) for the money. Their offer on the X3M is also very close to the UK Forces deal at £699/£699.

Not sure what to make of HJ Chester.

Enquired about X5 M50i about 4 months ago. Told 1 year lead time (which I thought was weird at the time) and now they're on the clearance list! LoL ... unless it's just a single car wtx

lol reminds me of the Time 12 years ago when I was 3 minutes late after check in closed (Berlin schonefeld) and explained that it was because of a tyre blowout and that I had to start an A and E shift 3 hours after touchdown please let me board so I don't let my colleagues and patients down.
She said 'you could be Mickey mouse or Walt Disney but if it says boarding closes at 10 it means it closes af 10'.

This is not an approved response to a comment about Jags. You have not even mentioned reliability and or a penchant for spending time in a dealership...

Do JLR make an ugly car anymore? They seem to have nailed exterior styling, not all stunners but no mingers...
