Hey guys. I've grown to dislike the cheap looking matte black plastic pieces in our interiors. After driving both a G20 and G30, I've grown to prefer the gloss black materials used in those cars. So I'm thinking of somehow making my center console, and door pieces (both pictured below) gloss black.

Just wanted to see your thoughts, and also curious on what the best ways to do this might be? Thinking a wrap? Possibly painting gloss black with a clear overcoat?

A professional wrap is going to probably yield the best results, unless you're incredibly good with paint work. Plasti-dip may also be an option, but again, probably best done professionally. I've also never seen it done personally, so I don't know how smooth they come out.

BTW, I keep a microfiber in my door pocket, too. Dust buildup gets on my nerves.

I'd keep a clean looking "cheap matte" finish over a scuffed up glossy one any day!

Scratches and imperfections are much more noticeable on a glossy/shiny surface. - I had Piano black in my last car, and pretty as it was to look at in the showroom, the scratches/swirl marks overtime drove me nuts...

But if your still keen on doing it a wrap is probably the best choice.

Interesting point. Didnt think of the scratches. Do the G30 and G20 suffer from this on their center console?
