problem during acceleration - feels like hits at front of car

Hi.

I have a problem with my 335xi. During acceleration from total stop the car accelerate but with siginificant hits in front of car and some hesitation of car or gearbox. The mechanic disconnected transfer box and the problem dissapear. After connecting transfer box the problem returned. The car don''t show any errors during scanning with ISTA. Changing module of transfer box to other didn't solve problem. Mechanic looked into transfer case and didn't found any damages.

What could cause this problem ? Maybe someone have similar problem.

Regards.

I have 19 inch wheels, factory fitted.
S2PFA BMW LM Rad M Sternspeiche 403.

During acceleration i can feel significant hits (shakes), but when car speed is 20/30 km/h the shaking dissapear. But with small speed the car accelerate, with first hit the garbox shift up, then shift down. this is strange because car before this malfuntion did'nt do any problems.

I had a similar problem. Juddering under acceleration at any speed or strength.

Did this to reset throttle body, worked like a charm.

hope this helps

update to the above - didn't fix it after all. Had x4 new tyres fitted by the garage I bought it from - still a problem so they are having it next friday to look at other options.

So frustrating that its taking this long to sort out the problem.

Had the same issue. At 39,000 miles, dealer replaced transfer case under warranty. Same issue reappeared at 102,000 miles. Dealer quoted $6,000 to replace again. Decided to replace transfer case actuator motor myself. Two-hour job with jack under transmission. Problem solved. Used part <$300. Software compatibility may be an issue with newer revision parts, so pay attention, or be ready to have dealer upgrade software. Still better than $6k!

I’ve been having the same issue and I’m praying it’s not my transfer case.. car stutters under heavy acceleration at low speeds like something is slipping

problem resolved

The juddering was found to be a faulty transfer case. £3700 total cost to be replaced with a new one, which the garage paid for. Car was then very smooth.

Decided petrol was not for me so upgraded to a 335d x-drive, which is a monster of a car that can still return 50 mpg.

I was recently experiencing a jutter under acceleration. 77K
Changed the transfer case fluid with Redline MT-90. Fixed it.
$40.

Runs out great without any jutter and seems to just shift smoother overall. Very happy with the results.

From the look of the fluid, I'm going to do the rest of the drive train.
