Should I go for same tyres width front/rear or not

Hi guys,

Recently bought f30 2018 with stock 16" wheels.

I want to switch to 18' and I've done some research and here is what I've got:
I can buy both front and rear 225/45 18" or
I can buy front 225/45 and rear 255/40 18'

I've had some sports cars before but I've always went for the same size - first time I see in it BMW that I can choose different size on rear and front. Which one would you go for and why? Currently Im driving 320i 184hp however Im going for few mods after my warranty ends(july 2021) so ill be probably around 300hp with new tyres.
I'll probably go for non RFT
Thanks for input

I'm running square 245/40-18 on mine and the handling is fantastic!

are the staggered 18" wheels you are planning OEM? if so, the rim sizes are 18x8 ET34, 18x8.5 ET47. i suggest 245/40/18 front & 255/40/18 rear, to reduce understeer. these are the max recommended widths on 8" & 8.5" widths, respectively.

however, if you rather stick with the OEM staggered combo of 225/45/18 & 255/40/18 or do 245/40/18 square on the staggered widths as johnung suggested, that is fine as well.
