So many great films on this thread

I'll add The Dresser, starring the late, great Albert Finney and Tom Courtenay in a wonderful pairing. Recently rewatched it, stunning performances.

It was about half an hour too long - but then Villeneuve has form on that front, as well as with the sometimes deafening soundtrack.

Finding Eric was superb, don’t know if it’s already been mentioned. Also Fisherman’s friend for a bit of musical fluff, and I Care a Lot.

Looking forward to Netflix’s latest offering with Megan Fox, Night Teeth. Not....

Hopefully watching this tonight on imax. Really looking forward to it. Blade Runner 2049 is one of my favourite films, and the soundtrack is mega on that one too, hoping for more of the same.

John Boorman's Excalibur, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, and The Battle of Britain. My late first wife, an American, said these films explained much about the English (meaning me).

I think you'll be okay if you enjoyed BR2049 or Arrival.

I don't mind a slow burn and tbh, I probably could have sat there for another 3hrs.

I liked Arrival but never really took to 2049. It just felt like a loud, ponderous & overworked version of the original. I realise I'm probably in a minority, as it seems to have received very positive critical reviews even if at was a bit of a box office disappointment in terms of takings.

I'm the same. Loved both those films, and am expecting that I'll enjoy Dune too. He also directed Sicario and that was also a cracker.

The car "chase" in Sicario at the Mexico border is one of the most epic sequences filmed.

Indeed! More exciting than most actual car chases.

Anyone seen 'a simple plan?'

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0078cwc

Terrific storyline and thought provoking. Watched about 45 mins so far which is typical of me. Watch films in chunks lol. Took me years to finish the revenant!

Not out yet so can't say it's a must see, but if you are into horror, this is something to look forward to:

Enjoyed this one as well

It's just horror movies, some people like that. Hardly offensive is it?!?

Agree.

Anything with Jim Carrey, now that's offensive.
