imzipy F32 440i Build Thread
Hello and welcome to thread for my 2019 BMW 440i in Black Sapphire Metallic, Zf8 speed RWD.
I did purchase the vehicle back in October of 2021, so I have already modded the car. I will try to look back and show every part I've changed. I picked up the car CPO with 23,364 miles. When buying the 440i I was looking for the (icon headlights, m sport kit, rear-wheel drive, digital dash, black interior, and possibly a manual). I ended up not being able to find a manual or the nice blue calipers, Although I'm ecstatic about my spec. Attached are the only 100% stock pictures I have of the car Also, please excuse some of the horrible pictures from early on. Cheers, imzipy Last edited by imzipy; 07-11-2022 at 02:31 AM.. |

Lowered & Quickly
It did not take me long to get the car lowered; I ordered h&r super sports before even picking up the 440i.
I had to get a few things knocked out for the car; I'm not too fond of stock ride-height cars or, in this case, even owning a stock car. I slapped the springs on a night after work. Knowing down the road, these will not be enough low for me. But, again, straightforward install, and I had a few shortcuts; I've done suspension work 5 or 6 times on f3x chassis. The next day, I had 3m ceramic tint installed, 20% sides and back, 50% on the windshield. Although I'm not the biggest fan of tint, I'd rather be able to pick my nose without anyone being able to see. The biggest thing for me when buying a new car is paint, I've been correcting paint and detailing for close to 5 years, and I knocked out a light polish on the vehicle getting out 75% of the defects. As well as using a suitable sealant. I had transformed the car very quickly, and it hadn't been a whole week since picking up; I had to keep going until I was at a happy OEM Plus point. Next, I had to get rid of those chrome grills that stick out like a sore thumb, and I also figured it was time to pick out an accent color and slap on some carbon fiber. |

Carbon (Just the Start)
The following two mods helped the styling and how aggressive the front end of this car looks. Looking back now, the carbon theme is much on the grills for me. The nice part is the carbon blends in very beautifully with the Black Sapphire Metallic paint.
Effortless install on both of them, I went back later to adjust my front bumper/hood fitment: The fitment on that, as many f3x owners know, even from the factory, is sometimes a little suspect. Finishing off the first week of ownership around this time, I would say the car's looking excellent for just a one-week transformation. This was my first carbon m sport style front lip for the f32; looking back, wishing I would've bought the three-piece lip the first go around. Before I forget to add, Burger Motorsports spacers 12mm front 15mm rear. Put on the same day as the H&R springs.* |

Rear End Changes
Finally, some carbon bits and paint-matched parts arrive for the rear of the f32.
The RW Carbon fiber rear diffuser went on easy compared to the last two I've bought from an unnamed company for my two previous 340s. I snuck the paint-matched rear reflectors on also. I always have a tough time finding trunk lips for my vehicles: Usually, the trunk lip is either a little too subtle or aggressive. Never the in-between. I ended up fitting two trunk lips to this car before calling it a loss and going OEM style. One picture below was one failed style that looked nothing like the picture (when purchasing) and slanted too far back, not fitting the car's lines. I also tried a PSM style f32 trunk lip; This lip was too aggressive for my mostly stock car. I added a test fit of HRE FF04's off an F10 M5 (fronts). No reason behind this* |

Daily for the Daily
I then got my wagon back after six weeks (Broken Boi) and decided to sell the "Daily" that ran 50% of the time. It was supposed to help save money so I could get back into an M2 at the end of 2022. Unfortunately, the wagon would break down all the time, resulting in getting a car sooner (440) during the last break down, making me fall short of the m2 goal.
The B8 Avant didn't take long at all to sell Although it was a giant PITA, I was sad to see it go with all the time and money I put into it, making it look so lovely. |

NewFrontEnd
The next mission on things that bug me about my car was the foglights; I've never been a massive fan of fog lights on BMWs. So I deleted those, codded them out, and slapped on a new, improved three-piece lip instead of the old, flimsy one-piece lip.

Update
I'm sure I got almost everything. I'm not sure I'd say this is a "build" just yet—plenty of plans. I'm taking it slow with this car, but you should be all caught up. . I did remove the catless downpipe because I'm not too fond of the smell. I will order an AWE mid-pipe along with coil-overs to help the stance. Besides that, plenty of mods to be purchased.
Enjoy some pictures. If you guys would like, I'll post some previous f30 "Builds" or my old stock m2c. |

Thanks for all the comments, guys, Updates are coming soon. I should have updates by the end of next week!
I'm nervous about these next changes, but I figured it's time to step out of my comfort zone of clean and simple. |

Hello guys, It has been a few months since I checked or updated my build thread.
Updates; I took many of my carbon bits off for a few months, including the Trunk lip, front lip, mirror caps, and carbon antenna. Parts I've added, AWE Midpipe, Turner Motorsports front lip, new trunk lip, M440i badge (gray) I do have the yellow DRLs, but I usually only run them for 24 hours before I get tired of them and I switch back to my stock DRLs I went out and grabbed a bunch of pictures this weekend. Here are a few to keep you guys updated Future mods: Painting my calipers gold Im waiting on the new stickers. Coilovers! I've been uploading some youtube videos. If you are curious about those, I’ll leave a link below! https://www.youtube.com/@jvckd/featured |
