Is there a football thread?

I had a look on the G20 off topic and there’s about 8 posts in total, this seems a lot busier, any football threads as I can’t seem to find one?

Cheers

Thanks, the Bournemouth game could have gone either way. Perhaps with Eddie at the helm it might have been a different story.

Five years in the PL was beyond our wildest dreams, one season even. I have fond memories of Griffin Park and the pubs on each corner. Two clubs tied at the hip for many years.

You thoroughly deserve your time at the top table and hopefully you can consolidate. We went down by one point and the skin of our teeth but Eddie was starting to lose it slightly. Last season was a mess.

I went to Forest on Saturday, missed out on Brum tonight but back to back away wins, something that probably never happened in the PL... some great trips though, a few upsets...hopefully you guys can do likewise...

Marcondes has started well for us btw, a real grafter.

I have a soft spot for them definitely. I hope Scott Parker works out. Both clubs to me feel like they are so community focused.
Going to the new stadium on Friday was a dream come true to actually beat Arsenal was crazy ! It's so tricky to get tickets not having a season ticket but I was on the website all week trying. I got my 5 year old lad a membership too so I can accompany him to Saturday games if he's lucky to get a ticket

We were in a proper league for a long time - in fact in 2015 we were in the L1 playoffs and lost to Preston - the manager left just after, the neglectful owner took his bat home and we fell from grace spectactularly.

I remember 2015 well as I was on hols in San Fran - and went out to be dinner to be sat at a table next to a guy in a Preston shirt!

Did you gloss over FA Cup semi finalists in 1997, only beaten after a replay by the multi national millionaires of Middlesbro? And because David Elleray was a complete and utter kn*b

Bitter, me

Oh my, what a shocker last night's game turned out to be... Winning 1-0 at half time and bossing the game... a game that completely fell apart for us in the second half and you got the impression we could have played all night and not got the second equaliser...

Nights like that you question your spend on the Season Ticket...!!!

For those Premier League followers, The Championship is where it is really at for competitive football... After two games, nobody had a 100% record...

Anybody got a favourite for the Prem this season?I’m predicting a strong Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea with a hopeful tail off of Citeh because they’ve got no fans.

I’m going with either Liverpool or United for the top spot.

Hollywood owners (Wrexham), data driven owners (Notts County - their owners Football Radar provide football data on all the detailed stuff that clubs now use), rich owners (Stockport with a director of football who was a senior analyst at Man City)...

when a team in the NL sign the player of the season from L2, whose club were promoted last season to L1, you know its more than the pub league these days...

One of the managers in the NL even won the Champions league as a player....

Anybody other than United. Or Chelsea. Or Spurs.

I'd like it to be Leicester but suspect it will be City. They do have fans, they even live in Manchester (unlike United)....I know as they came to Chesterfield when City were in L1....and they still had a good following.

This should be a safe thread with no name calling or things getting out of hand!

Didn't take long for the ABU's to arrive either!!

How local should your local team be and what level should they be playing at, its a confusing subject!

Anyway, a southern born, United, fan here. Yes, MUFC, before anyone gets picky... Just hoping for a challenge on the league this year and some entertaining football all round, if the first round of prem games is anything to go by it should be a good season!

Glad fans are back!

Liverpool born Liverpool fan here and I’d actually like to see United and Liverpool go head to head this season, one if the best if not the best rivalries in football history!

If we are going for want not think, I'd love to see Bielsa and Leeds up and around the top....and I'd like to see Brentford finish the highest of the London teams....
