Easy to forget how non forum folk view cars..
Have had this 2019 420d GC for a few days since the m340 borked itself with a software update.
When I got it I was grumbling to the kids it's a noisey, rattly slow (in comparison) 2.0 diesel, basic interior, not as refined etc etc I then got told but its a nice blue, lights look cool, the windows go down when you get in and out and have been told that's a nice car by actual grown ups.. It's so easy to forget that to a lot of people something like a 420d gc is amazing and they would love to have one. It has also reminded me that shape 4 series is a pretty car and it was a 430d 6 years a go that made me buy a bmw. |

Yep, non-car people don't get certain things. Years ago I turned up at work in a Jag XKR Coupe. I had three coworkers ask if I got it cheap because the previous owner had not specced a sunroof.

A lot of folks now view cars as a necessary evil. More users these days see them as a waste of money and vehicles are getting loaded with 'stuff' we don't really need.
We also have to remember, most vehicles don't really give much driving pleasure, (even if a decent drive) in the conditions many have to drive. Congestion, sitting in traffic flows, or worse, stop and go traffic. To many, anything that looks a bit 'flashy' is likely to get a thumbs up. |
