Wife's 335i N55 is misfiring, need help please! Logs attached
Hey all, looking for some advice
Wife's car has had a slight misfire since we bought it used, but has progressively gotten worse over the past few years. It misfires and stumbles under partial throttle, under load. Misses less under WOT or when you absolutely feather it. Every once in a while it'll miss slightly while idling as well. Test drove a 2014 528 at my buddies' and it seemed considerably quicker. So far I've done NGK spark plugs, all 6 new delphi coils, air filter, and put a new AGM battery in as preventitive maintenance (start/stop was acting up) but nothing has changed. Even tried swapping in my bosch coils from my E60 just for giggles. The car is completely stock, has been well maintained, and has 120k miles. Hopefully logs help, 4th gear: https://datazap.me/u/xslntx/misfire-4th?log=0&data=3-4-13-17-18-19-20-21-22 1-4th: https://datazap.me/u/xslntx/misfire-1-4?log=0&data=3-4-13-17-18-19-20-21-22 Car is a 2012 335iX, build 11/11 I believe, it does not throw any codes whatsoever. Any input is greatly appreciated. |

I'm 95% sure I've tried that, will do again to make sure
Cleaned both solenoids and tested on bench, they seem to work fine. Thank you for that. Gave it a watch, problem is I don't have drivetrain malfunction and no codes are thrown. I have checked with an Autel and ISTA and there's nothing stored. If I watch live data while the car idles, the misfire counter goes up by 1, on a random cylinder, every 10-45 seconds. I also took off the intake today to check for carbon. Stuff's dirty but not N54 dirty. Will clean later on anyways. View post on imgur.com |
