F31 wheels and tyres

First off, Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and from the UK. I've looked in before but now I've actually bought an F31 330d X I thought I'd better register.

I have a question for the guys and gals that have the 398m style wheels with MPS tyres. I love the look of these in the dark grey colour but noticed that they come with a slightly higher profile than my current 18"s. Do the Pilots improve comfort at the expense of handling or are they about the same as run flats?

If anyone has a set of these for sale in the uk perhaps you could let me know. Many thanks.

What do you mean that they come in higher profiles ?

Mitchilin PS4's are avaliable in 225/45 R18 and 255/40 R18 as per factory spec for 18" alloys.

Yes, you're right. Senior moment. Sizes are the same. I've looked at so many wheel and tyre combinations over the last few days, I've gone boss eyed! So my question would be....What is the difference between run flats and non-run flats?

Ride comfort is bounds different, non-RF's are cheaper typically as well as easier to mount for shops and tire brand/sizing options are more plentiful. The issue of a blow out is the risk/reward you have to come to either a compromise or solution for. I have free towing so I don't worry about it.
