Man I really wish they did an orange 605 and blue combo. I don’t think anyone even likes the white option lol. Orange and blue would be the best combo.

If you buy in bulk at least 100 pieces you can get a custom color combination lol. Yeah hopefully they start offering different combinations without having to do so.

Probably because all the China clone ones are blue orange.

Good point, like 90% of the Chinese retrofits are that ice blue and orange. Hard pass if it's not a true blue!

They did say to me earlier this year when I asked they plan to release other colour combinations later this year. 🤞🏽 I can get orange 605 / purple

That's awesome. Hopefully they offer a blue/green combination. I'd like something other than white as an alternative which I will never use.

Blue/green is an awesome combo, would second the need of this

If you order enough of each colour then you could potentially mod them.

Pair of tweezers and a heatgun with a nozzle adapter on it, I used to do it when making Frankenstein led boards lol. Just slowly heat them from the back and don't blast them with a ton of air to save ruining the chips.

Managed to unsolder the OEM orange led and reattach it onto the aftermarket board. Took a lot of fiddling as the aftermarket boards need a hot air solution rather than a soldering iron. In the process I managed to loose the middle pin, the solder they use is sh*t.. I had to trace the track and resolder it back on down the line.

In total I now have blue/orange

Finally got door card ambient light, climate panel, and footwell all switched out with the new led modules! Here are some pics. The orange 605 is slightly brighter than OEM, but the white is TONS brighter than OEM. The white is almost too bright for night driving, but that's ok since I mostly keep it on orange.

I found this with the white, that’s why I’ve soldered the OEM orange leds on but as there’s no info about what BMW used I couldn’t check voltage limits.. they lasted all of around 4 minutes before burning out

You're probably going to have to get the orange LEDs from the Benzinfabrik modules. Sorry to hear the OEM LEDs burned out.

Sorry to hear that, a lot of work to have to do again is a pain. I did fear that was gonna happen when I saw you did that as I'm guessing the led was designed for that resistor

Yeah, honestly I might just switch the footwell LEDs back to the OEM ones. It's a bummer cause I do like the brightness of the orange there, but that's the main area where the brightness of white color is way too bright at night. The door cards and climate panel I can manage.

Yeah that or I can just order some from my components supplier.

I suspected they may eventually burn out just not that fast ha, with there being no information about them I couldn't guess. Luckily the other 3 took me 15 minutes to desolder and resolder as I found the perfect temperature to warm the boards up to, they came out super clean too..

I'm not overly bothered about just having blue though as I really didn't like the white. I'll probably wait until benzfabrik release an orange 405 / blue combo. I can't be bothered stripping the doorcards off again to test a DIY project

Spoke to Benzinfrabrik, orange 405 / blue will be in stock within 12-14 weeks

Darn, wish I knew this before I just swapped everything out lol… that would've been my ideal combo. Now I'm too lazy to do it all again haha, esp the door cards.

Same here lol even once they offer other color combos, I'm not messing with what's already installed! Too much work! I'm happy with blue so it's all good.

Same here also, the white is way too bright and I wouldnt use it. On the flipside Im also not a big fan of that old fashioned red/amber/orange whatsoever, into the newer cars (so my former RS5 has it already) a variable ambient light is very handy and suitable, but I refuse to install RGB light strips.

I'm always a bit skeptical about removing door cards too many times, the plugs become brittle eventually and don't hold tension, one of mine already buzzes/rattles because of the material scrubbing the actual metal door whilst driving.

I actually already broke 4-5 of the plastic pins. I had to order replacement pins cause without those pins in place the door def buzzes and rattles over bumps.

If you find the part numbers could you send them my way? I was on a spirited driver last weekend and although I was driving like 80-90 across woodland roads the entire door card drove me nuts, it was like a buzzing/creaking sound.

I have maybe two or three broken pins for sure so its gotta be that
