Agree with all the positives and only negatives I can find so far lack of storage and USB ports. Also, Bluetooth and iPhone plug in integration is a mess.
Love this car and have owned her for 3 days and can already tell this is by far the best 3 I've owned. I have owned a 1999 328i, 2001 330i, 2008 335i, and now this. |

I've had my 340 since November. I gotta say as an every day car, I have no complaints. well maybe the navigation as I'm a big Waze fan but other then that I love the car. I have an xdrive 6mt and it's an absolute blast to drive. pickup when you need it and smooth handling. even for the novice stick driver, the manual is so easy to drive. the rev matching is on point IMO. the 19" wheels are a bit and only a bit of a rough ride when in sport+ but I always drive in sport mode with the chassis performance shut off for a smooth ride with engine power.
I wasn't a fan of the stereo at first but after really playing around with the equalizer, I found a nice sound with all my music. only complaint there is the car does rattle outside if the bass and volume are up. I guess better insulation would've solved that. |

First time BMW owner. I picked mine up just under 2 weeks ago and then went out of town for a week, so my drive time has been limited. But, I did take a road trip this past weekend and racked up 500 miles. Have to say I'm loving it so far. In case anyone is interested, my build is:
340i xdrive Mineral Grey Metallic / Black Dakota Leather with Dark Oyster / Ash Grain Wood Trim with Metal Inlay and PearlGloss Chrome 19 inch 442M Orbit Grey wheels 8 speed auto transmission Cold Weather Package Driver Assist & Driver Assist+ Packages M Sport Package with Adaptive M Suspension Track Handling Package Positives: Pretty much everything so far. Love the look, and the car is so much fun to drive. I've limited myself to Comfort and Sport so far while I break in the engine (I don't plan to use Eco Pro really). Negatives: Aside from not being able to figure out a few things (the genius wasn't there when I picked up my car, so I haven't had a chance to ask everything yet) there isn't a whole lot of negative. One thing I'd like to customize is having the sport mode gearing and throttle response combined with comfort mode suspension. Definitely don't want that all the time, but my wife complains about the less smooth ride in sport mode, so. Haven't figured out how to do this yet but I think it's possible... right? |

My last two BMW were a 2011 z4 and 2013 ah3. I just picked up few days ago a 2016 340xi. The engine is much better, gas mileage is worse however that expected. In terms of 18 inch run flats they are much better than those on my last two cars and miles ahead of the one e90. Steering is better than my last car. Both had adaptive suspension which might play a role. The 340 I believe is better than than 335 was. It's faster; engine is smoother and steering atleast to me feels better; suspension over rough nyc pavement is smoother than my last f30. No one will regret this car. It's 90% what an m3 is!!

6k miles on an estoril blue/saddle brown 6-speed 340ix. Cold weather, driver assistance, M sport with adaptive suspension, rear shades, non-Nav.
Ditched run-flats for staggered 19" 403M/MPSS summer and square 18" 400M/Blizzak WS80 winter set up. Positives: Standing out are the engine, 6-speed transmission with rev-matching, handling and driver dynamic modes. Just returned from a 3k road trip and fell in love with the seats. Also like the iDrive (I hate touch screen car entertainment systems with a vengeance). And it looks great inside and out! Negatives: coming from a long line of hatchbacks it will take some getting used to the trunk space, not improved by the donut spare in it. The steering is ok, but I prefer that of my 2007 GTI. |

Negatives:
- no top end power - RFTs on the track package suck, on the 19's - notchy tranny - grabby brakes - steering - no personality |

Great car overall and still the benchmark for cars in the segment.
I found the transmission is a bit notchy but slowly getting used to it. There does seem to be some rattling in the cabin which is irritating but this tends to exist in all cars one way or another. I will say that I was disappointed the there were extra costs for features like comfort access and the rear camera given the price of the car. |

Road noise is fixable by getting non-rfts. Body roll can be somewhat improved by swapping springs. creaks and rattles...exchange your car for one built in germany Fuel efficiency, keep your foot lighter |

Negatives: - The open diff. - The runflat tires (I know I mentioned that previously, but they suck so bad, it needs to be mentioned again) Positives: - 99.9% of the time this is the perfect car, Four doors, six speed manual, rear wheel Drive, great low-end, excellent ergonomics, decent looks, good handling, stops ok , Prius like mileage if you're careful. Can't ask for much more except for all those negatives to be fixed. |

340i xDrive, track handling package
Positives - almost everything. Only negative - sudden unweighting of the steering almost at center, especially noticeable in sport mode and at higher speed. Feels really weird, but getting used to it. |

The diff (for a cost) and tires are fixable, but I guess your point is you shouldn't have to fix them yourself - should be available from the factory. |
