This doesn't work on my F32 440i, which is supposed to have every option except a heated steering wheel and headlight wipers.

My 2015 beeps at me if I put the car in D while the mirrors are folded. Surprised me the first time. I guess you can still insist on driving away, the car won't prevent you, and then the mirrors will unfurl as you reach 25 mph?

I don't actually like this feature. I prefer to have full control of the compressor.
I live in a Habitat for Humidity. It'll be interesting to see if the car does this for me one day this summer. Of course if it's summer and I have the windows shut, the A/C WILL be on.

Thanks to this thread, I've found the cargo hooks and the thick elastic strap in the trunk. The latter was something the German-built Buick Regal had, and I was surprised to think the BMW didn't. Perfect for holding a compact umbrella!

Is it possible to reconfigure the cargo net so that it will hold groceries or other object upright? Say I have a couple of closed bottles or other objects I want to transport upright. Is there some way to re-hook the net so that it will hold them? The net doesn't do me much good lying on the cargo floor.

If you pack your shine in wooden crates, they tend not to roll around when getting away from revenuers.

Been awhile since I did mine, but IIRC you have the destination input into the NAV, and place the cursor on Start Navigation. Save it on the button before pressing anything else.

I read on X3 forum that you have to highlight the address in the previous address list, if you save at the start navigation screen, it will just start at whatever the last address is. I'll have to try this out after work.

Here's a trick to instantly change the mood lighting color at the touch of a button:

1) Set the color to sport.
2) Go to your profiles and copy it
3) Activate the copied profile
4) Change the color to classic
5) Assign one of the shortcuts to your first profile
6) Assign another shortcut to the other profile

Now you can instantly change the mood lighting at the touch of a button.
You can do much more. I have a "street" and "track" profile with shortcuts set to appropriate functions like tire pressure monitor, sport gauges, etc. Cluster display is more simplified etc.

Do they just velcro to the trunk wall?

ETA: Never mind, I suspect they do, but the left trunk wall has a recess in it that shortens the length of the wall, and the right side has the elastic built-in strap. Maybe a small net on the left could hold my detail spray and microfibers.

I see also that the net on the cargo floor is two-part, i.e., there is a small portion like a pouch on top of the larger. Things can be slid in there. And I see two rings on the floor of the trunk farther in. Anybody know what those are intended for?

Also, didn't see this mentioned, but there's another outlet in the trunk on the left side covered by a plastic housing with a white "+" on it. I thought it might be for a first-aid kit, but it's an outlet like the cigarette lighter.

Yes, they do velcro-I bought 3 different sizes to fit the 3 different "walls"- they fit perfectly. The one on the back of the seat holds my sunshade in the winter (80cm). The one on the right holds tire shine can, glass cleaner and my maintenance/reference binder. The one on the left holds a bag of microfibers, rinseless wash and quick detailer. All is held perfectly and tightly. It cleaned up the trunk nicely.

Discovered that, if you are listening to another music source, say a USB drive in the console port, you can touch one of the speed buttons to which you have a radio station saved, and the system will switch to it. You don't have to change the mode to AM/FM first.

Also I saved my trip computer to Button 8. Then I tried the voice command, "Display, trip computer," and dang me, it worked! (When I tried "Display, tire pressure," though, the system displayed the onboard owner's manual page about the TPMS. Still got some bugs to work out on that.)

Yesterday afternoon I thought I'd give the Auto Stop-Start a real try. It is pretty seamless. And flicking the transmission lever to the left while the engine is off does restart the engine -- but it doesn't re-disable the A.S.S. You still have to press that button.
