Will F8X axles fit F3X?

Hello all,

I am currently in the process of upgrading my engine and turbo setup and looking to put significantly more power down than my previous setup. I am in the process of gathering parts for LSD and I'll be doing a 15" wheel conversion in the rear. With the kind of power I'll be putting down, and the hard launches that will be taking place in a drag race setting, axles and driveshaft are a concern of mine.

I was curious if anyone has upgraded the rear axles on their F3X. Will the F8X axles be a direct replacement?
I was also curious to see if anyone has upgraded their driveshaft to a one piece driveshaft?

Any insight is welcome. Thank you!

F8X axles will not fit. But I have basically not heard anyone complain of broken axles in high HP F3X.

Edit: you could consider checking if raxles makes a set for the F3X.

I agree, I haven't heard of other breaking axles but I worry with a 275/60/15 and repetitive hard launches and high hp, I'll soon be finding the weak points of the driveline.

I appreciate the input!

I broke my axle on stock power, stock suspension, stock tire size. Never launch, never do donuts or burnouts or drift. My point is it happens lol

Oh I know! Just looking at upgrading to possibly prevent or even just prolong it from happening lol
I'm chasing a 10 second pass, so at this point I know it's inevitable.

I'd look at the axles/drive train components from the 3/435dx. 465lb-ft of torque vs 443lb-ft in the M4 GTS.

Just checked, the diesel axles are actually 27mm thick, while the 335's are 35mm. No idea on length or anything. Maybe the diesel ones are solid rather than hollow?

Would be very easy to grab some for cheap from lkq or something similar.

The gas ones are hollow, diesel are solid. You can tell from the weight specs.

You'd probably need the diff, axles, possibly wheel bearings/hubs IF the rear knuckles are the same if not that assembly would need to be swapped as well. Another thing that comes to mind is if the stock driveshaft would bolt up? That may need to either be lengthened or shortened and maybe customized to bolt onto the F8x diff.

How about your gearbox? Do you have a MT or the 8 gear automatic, which can actually bear more power.

I have the 8AT and I'm not too worried about it. I'm sure eventually it will start to go, and at that point I will have it built. I think the axles and driveshaft will be a weaker points than the gearbox.
