Can I daily drive on E30?
Hey guys,
I have a simple question it's my first time using E85 and I would like to know if I can daily drive my car with a E30 mix if so what are the cons because I keep hearing about clogged injectors is this true or just a myth? Thanks for the advice in advance! |

Been doing a 50/50 93 e30 for the past year with no real issues. Only thing I will say that with the dorch stage 1 hpfp, it will once in a blue chirp when the engine is cold until it warms up a bit but I have not been able to reproduce it consistently. Occasionally I'll try to run a tank of full 93 though the challenge in that is I end up missing the feeling of the e30+ blend as regular pump just doesn't "hit" the same way.
So long as you don't leave e sitting in the gas tank for long periods of time especially during the colder weather if you live through those, you should be fine. |

The title of this thread totally threw me off
I initially read Can I daily drive AN E30 not ON E30 lol But yes you can, I've been running E30 for a couple of months as a daily. It's not as inconvenient when you have the Fuel It sensor. I will say, I do run a tank of 91 every couple of fill ups just in case. Not sure if that even does anything other than for peace of mind

Stuck open fuel injectors are common on the 2016. Maybe it happens in some of the other years. Fuel washes down that cylinder wall and then bad things happen. This happens on stock tune, stage one, two, across all fuel blends
That said e30 is the bomb especially if you live in a sub 93 octane world |

back on topic I daily'd my e82 n54 on full e85 for 3 or so years, never had a problem. I don't know how the b58 is in the winter with the e85 and long starts or if they found the tables in the xdf to adjust cold starts. |

Given that I get my emissions done "behind the scenes" due to my catted downpipe in NYC, I never actually see the emissions test itself so cannot comment unfortunately on the fuel system readiness.

Yeah, no problem to run a mix like that on a daily, some guys recommend flashing to a pump gas tune every couple months but E30 is barely outside the normal E10 most people are already getting. 100% E85 and you could make an argument to add some sort of conditioner/etc. I've been daily driving on E60 for years.

Do you have the BMS ethanol sensor or any other kind of ethanol measuring device, or do you just go by the math and say ~5 gallons or whatever? I did the math for my fuel tank capacity in my F32 (15.9 gallons) and it works out to about 5.6 gallons mixed with a full tank to get E30 (but that's not including the up to 10% in the 91 gasoline already, which is why I'd consider getting the sensor).

I use a graphing calc to get my E34 mix perfect with matrix reduced row echelon form. There's apps you can use, but they were too much guesswork. I plug in my known variables and get the exact amounts I need every time.

You can run more ethanol if your fuel pump supports it. If you want a map on E40 then you'll need a custom tune.
