I feel like the creaking is coming from above me though. It sometimes sounds like there's something stuck on between the roof and headliner.

Mine sounded like it was coming from all around me. I'd hear it mostly when driving slow over uneven pavement

Will BMW fix rattles after the first 12 months?
I currently have them in the following areas: * 3rd brake light cover * Parcel shelf * Driver's "oh shit" handle * Driver's A-pillar * Passenger door (goes away when I pull on the door, from inside) * Glove box (yes, the actual glove box, not something inside -- goes away if I jam something in there to make it close tightly) * Bottom plastic of steering column * Something else on dash (sounds like it is around the screen) * Something else in back (not sure -- maybe one of the ambient light strips) * Something around the shift lever / e-brake drive-line tunnel (sounds like it is deep in there -- only does it when going up hill and the engine lugs a bit). This is after already quelling a few other rattles myself. This is my first BMW and the car sounds like a total piece of shit. |

Mine started "creaking" really early when I got it. I put rubber treatment: Gummi Plege (sp?) on all the door rubber seals. It wasn't the car creaking, it was the rubber seals on the black shadow line trim.
From inside, it sounded like it was coming from the door panels, but it was actually the trim around the top of the window. Did that 2 years ago, and haven't heard a sound yet (nor have I reapplied the rubber treatment). |
