Lots of manufacturers aren't sold on it. Some have no recommended brake fluid change interval at all. The reason to have an interval is to account for the fact that probably 99.9% of drivers don't test their fluid regularly. We could probably go longer on oil changes than we do if we had a $10 oil tester, but we don't, so we change it at regular intervals not knowing if it needs it or not.

Car called the stealership and said it was time to change the brake fluid (‘19 car at 36k miles. Tested at 0% water. Motive bleeder staying on the shelf.
Stealership called me and said hey it’s time and I replied back saying yep, I just reset the thing. See ya at any next recall. They also told me I need front pads when they were at 5mm each. |

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I plan on upgrading my brake calipers and sundry to the M-sport Brembo type (340mm Ft, 330mm Rr) with new HEL steel braided lines...so a brake system flush is on the list.
My local shop stocks Mobil-1 DOT-4 ESP (low-viscosity for ABS/DSC systems). Has anyone used this fluid with horror stories? Or am I safe to use this? |
