CTS Turbo has been making intakes for VWs for some time. The Golf R aftermarket intakes are notorious for causing fuel trim problems. CTS Turbo is one of the few manufacturers whose intake don't cause the problem.
I'd think that bodes well for their design for the N55.

Don't intakes cause codes on our cars?

I feel like it's just going to heat soak and suck hot air.

Ordered on website, got the paypal reciept and an email from CTS that said a confirmation would be emailed. Still haven't got that confirmation email. Figure they might have had the day off Friday?

I've wondered about that type of design for similar reasons. Just how close does the divider between the filter and the engine come to the hood? Does it serve to create a semi-enclosed box?
And except when sitting at idle, given the velocity of the incoming airflow, where would heat soak occur? It would be interesting if someone could log IATs with the stock intake and then with one of these filters on a stick. Maybe someone already has, and I'm just too lazy to go hunting. If so, apologizes in advance.

So in the interest of reviewing this thing fairly. I have a JB Stage 1 on my car which I don't believe logs IAT. (IAT meaning Intake Air Temp correct?)
I do however have the Carly OBDII sensor and Torque Pro on my Android. I have done some "live logging" if you will, of IAT driving around. I also believe Torque Pro will log. Does the data (logging) the Torque app provides accurate enough? It's the same OBDII data a JB4 would provide correct? If it is accurate enough, I'll log them both, before I install this thing I'll drive a route and log with the stock airbox, then swap it out and do the same route. I'm a nerd like that, I like to see hard data that proves or verifies something works as it should. Anyways, here's to hoping it comes soon. Thanks, not worried about it at all, they seem legit and are ALL over the VW forums.

The logic behind using a "hexagonal" maf housing doesn't add up and I'm also unsure why you'd want to add the weight of a cast component to an already lightweight system.
