Martin, thanks for the tip on getbmwparts.com. I'll check them out.
The bmw parts person mentioned something about reprogramming the control unit and mentioned that the labor on just that should take about $400 -- not sure what that is about and whether that is really required. btw... I have never had the opportunity to see the M sport steering wheel in person, but I saw the leather M steering wheel that comes with the 135i -- it seemed so awesome-- it was small and thick and very stylish, with part perforated leather. Will it be possible to fit that 135i steering wheel (along with its airbag) into a F30 without issues? |

For those who are going in for the alcantara steering wheel due to its small size rather than the "feel" of alcantara and are worried about ruining it or the looks of the red stripe not matching with beige interiors -- why not get a custom leather steering wheel cover such as those found from wheelskins.com and wrap that leather over the alcantara

Still rocking it, probably won't replace the other parts.
The buttons stick up a fair amount, you'd have to see in person to get a good grasp. Nothing I can't live with though, it seems

Dumbass line were a sure quick way to bump up Margins% for those corporate men behind BMW. Aint no way are those lines worth the few grand, a maybe if the line wheels looked a bit nicer... rather get some M performance parts, M sport or nothing,

Did anyone consider these steering wheels:
http://www.bimian.com/STW seems like they are compatible with the F30: http://www.bimian.com/STW/30 Might even be compatible with heated steering wheels? Only fault is: airbag issue, and lower trim piece issue.

That carbon wheel is nice, but a bit too busy for me. I am sort of OCD about the CF matching in the car.

Thinking about doing what you did with my recently purchased 2013 335xi. Any thoughts on the m performance wheel now?
My car has black interior with wood trim not sure this wheel would look good Last edited by ingonuts; 09-09-2013 at 10:31 PM.. |
