If so then its a product that will do well for the price in comparison to the more expensive offerings with the data to back it up.
I don't have my old jb4 logs from my time attack runs. I did win B3 class in Bimmer Challenge in a field of 8 or 9 competitors though at Big Willow. So when you talk about proven road course performance; I actually proved it for myself. I've been tracking for 15 years, but probably won't track the BMW much anymore.

Here are some of my recent logs. The old original VRSF IC I'm running is good for a few degree drops at the start of WOT pulls, but it can't compete against their new offerings on a FBO+tune car running 16+psi to redline. I'm waiting for their latest offering to drop. My choice is finding the right mix of cooling and added weight over the nose of the car. I'm leaning towards a PS2 or larger upgrade this year hence my renewed interest in a new IC.

My most recent log from today. I plan on getting the VRSF Race IC next. I bought their original street IC back in the day. I believe my IAT are causing my timing to not be as clean as it could be when I do very long pulls.

3rd through 6th gear pull on 8at. Should be about ~140mph when I let off.

Thanks for this post and actual test. With the new VRSF offerings will be great to see if the denser fin is an overall improvement. Hopefully the quality will be there to match as well.

Tiago@VRSF I'm willing to offer my car as a test vehicle for fitment and performance. FMIC will complement my VRSF chargepipe and downpipe nicely!

If you are getting PS2, the temps will get even worst. The race fmic should keep it in check. I have the CTS turbo fmic with ps2 and the times up top skyrocket. DME pulls timing at 107F IAT.

Your Wagner is a great intercooler, I'm glad you're enjoying it.

W'ere not interested in creating any sort of conflict and we're not trying to spark up any drama in this thread but I'd be up for a friendly debate about intercoolers via PM if you're interested!

As far as the new mid sized option we're releasing, it's designed for the guys interested in upgrading their turbos like the PS2 who need to keep intake temps in check without sacrificing flow.

So how does the new higher dense pack street IC compare to the existing street HD IC? Just wondering as I recently purchased a street HD a few weeks back

That's me! I assume it will weigh less than the full Race IC?

If you're doing lapping or circuit, I highly recommend the Race FMIC. The extended time on the track at summer temps, you will absolutely need a fmic like that especially since you're going PS2. If you're running meth, you can gey away with the other fmic, but if just pump, race fmic.

Agreed, but I don't think I'll be tracking the car much anymore. Hunting laptimes can get stressful and expensive Also I think the race IC is geared toward high HP and drag cars (more so than road course).

I think the new VRSF IC that's about to drop will be a good middle ground between cooling/weight/radiator air flow. I could ultimately end up with the race one though. Waiting for more info

I think if it can handle my stock turbo @16psi to redline it will handle a PS2 fine. I wonder if a stock maxed out turbo actually runs hotter IAT than a PS2 at the same boost....it probably does?

The HD is still the densest available at about 20 fins per inch

PS2 will 100% run hotter at any psi vs stock turbo same psi. The turbine wheel is essentially double the size of stock turbo.

The 5" will be your best bet for the stock turbo if you're not planning on racing. If any racing is involved you'd be better off waiting for our new mid tier intercooler

Double the size, but not working as hard for the same level of boost?

Or perhaps it's more correct to say that the PS2 runs cooler for the same amount of HP.

OEM turbo @400hp is hotter than Ps2 @400hp (less boost=less heat, same HP).

Explain? PS2 has bigger Turbine wheel and Compressor wheel, moving more air and at same psi will run hotter?

I got the new VRSF 5" street intercooler and also their charge pipe. The intercooler was easy to install except the fan shroud doesn't seem to fit the tabs. I had to cut off the part I circled in red.

Yikes.

Hoping to hear the answer to this if it's a larger scale issue. I'm getting mine installed tomorrow.
