I think some dealers are genetically programmed not to like anything come trade-in time. It's part of the game that they play to lower expectations, along with options on cars being valuable/worthless depending whether you are buying/selling...

Some car dealers are pretty straight, but at least half are pond-life in my experience.

Pond life would be an improvement (refer to Sytner Sheffield).

I would certainly tell them that you’re very disappointed that they led you to believe that 5% discount is all that’s available when sites like coast2coast are offering 11%, and say that you think they should at least match that!

But is that on the M40d? I think I must be one of the first people in the UK to have ordered one. They knew I liked the 30d but I expressed my reservations and told them that I might wait for the 40d, regardless they still spec'd up a 30d and tried to sell me one instead of going straight in and building me 40d?! It was only due to my insistence in maintaining interest in the M40d that they finally discovered that they were able to configure one for a customer - it's as if they weren't aware themselves?

It's definitely for the M40d, they've just accidentally put M40i on the quote page, the page you select it is the M40d:

And if your dealer won't play ball, find one that will

Having your deposit back should be pain-free

Well, I’ve completed and submitted tho online form via C2C. It’s shown the dealer to be Sytner rom High Wycombe. I’ll confirm with them whether it’s the M40i or M40d... Apart from that the price I’ve signed the deal on is better as it includes Autoglym, Service Pack, Reg Fee, Delivery, Number Plates, 12RFL.

I’ll let you know and results...

Wouldnt take the autoglym even if its free (which it isnt, has just come off the available discount). Just encourages them to scratch your paint.

All of that except the autoglym is included in the OTR price though isn't it?

100% this

Use the money for a proper new car detail instead by a professional, not a sponge dragger

I'd expect all that to be included OTR with the exception of the service pack. Nothing to stop you pushing hard for them to include that over and above the C2C quote

Oh yes the service pack too. It's only about £400 though.

Screw your local if Sytner High Wycombe isn't too far from you. At least they have given you the discount from the start.

Just say you are losing your job to get deposit back and can't afford the car no longer.

Chaps with X40i … what UK range are honestly getting 360 miles?

That discount looks good Teaston. I must look away quickly

Reckon I could get that if I tried. Tricky when you've got 360hp under your right foot...
