Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 225/40/19 supply issues

Hi

Have got myself into a right problem.... and would really appreciate any advise on what to do please:

Have been running a full set of MPSS on my 2015 335dx and the rears were shot, so replaced them last week. I fancied going back to F1s as had them on previous cars and loved them...however, with 3mm of MPSS on front and brand new F1s on the back the car now handles downright dangerously! Very unstable with direction change and a lot of traction control lighting up. Quite unnerving, so decided to get the fronts matched up asap.

So now it transpires that there isn't any stock of F1 Asymmetric 3 in 225/40 R19 93Y anywhere in the UK (or at least I can find from hours of calls) and Goodyear UK have no idea when there will be resupply. These are non-runflat of course.

My questions are:
1. Does anyone have any idea how best to find a pair of these as surely there must be some stock somewhere in the UK?
2. If nothing available, can I run a slightly different size of F1 up front on my OE 19" 403Ms? I recall a post on here which I found through search where someone had tried a 245 up front, but this sounds 20mm wider...does it really fit on the rim ok?

Really appreciate any steer on this and sorry to ask for help having not posted for ages, but starting a family, moving house, job etc have got in the way over last couple years.

They haven't been released yet in the none run flat configuration hence no stock - they've clearly missed their release date as GY told me July.

Like me you'll need some alternative and adhere to front and rear ratios, I got Dunlop SportMaxx 2 for good price, correct xdrive ratio and so far so good.

Shame as goodyear Eagle f1s are great overall tyres

You could use the calculator on tiresize.com to compare tyre sizes and sections F and R. Being an X-Drive the tyre sizes would need to be very closely matched to avoid over-stressing the drivetrain.

I believe that teaston has the 245 wide F1's fitted to his 335d Xdrive & really rates them

Yea I’ve got 245/35 19 Assymetric 3’s on the front, they fit the wheels much better than the stretched 225’s and provide better kerb protection.

Thanks Teaston
no traction control issues?
and did you have to get a BMW reset? not entirely sure what that means but I heard they can reset ECU for new equipment.

Thank you, very helpful...and confirms Teaston's 245s should be fine!

No issues whatsoever, the wider tyres giving more grip is no difference to replacement worn out old tyres with new grippy ones. They definitely dial out some of the Xdrive understeer and make the car feel even more rwd.
