Hello does anyone care to share the latest CIC MCU update for the gen. 2

Neh... tried all there is but also avin users have it. With or without a splitter.
New software solved 90% of the problem so it cant be wiring.
Which software are you using?

Hey DRuw , is the MCU firmware you sent out for CIC or NBT units? I reached out to Louie to get the latest version but haven't gotten anything back just yet.

Hi calle14,
your gps splitter works with the oem gps antenna in the ugode screen?
In my installation could not having it working (no stable satellite connections) in ugode. Bmw oem navigation works fine with the splitter.

Can you share more info please?

I have the splitter as well but be careful on the connection that is different than the original. It doesnt have a pull protection so you actually pull on the inner copper signal wire.... that broke in mine and had to solder it. I have instant sattelite lock and not during my holiday when i get out of a tunnel with 100km/hr i have a lock within 10 meters leaving the tunnel exit

One more opening this will be the 5th or 6th time. I have been an expert opening it. We should arrange a competition of who is the fastest installer of ugode screen. I am sure I will be in the top 3

Well, if the idrive works (check gps signal in advanced menu and not navigation. The unit also works with car sensors!)
If thats ok, its most likely the connection on the screen and thats just 6 screws...
Ive removed the unit probably about 10 times now.
First the avin, then the ugode...
Challenge accepted!

Maybe try swapping the two gps splitter ends and see if the Ugode starts working and Idrive gets no signal. That would be the best way to find out if you have a defective cable.

Unit is performing ok during my 600km drive today.
250 to go in a few minutes and this far only some waze hangups solved with restarting waze.

I installed new MCU Update (20180717) and new Android Software (20180717).

I went for a 500 km drive with 3 breaks. I didn’t have the blank screen problem anymore during navigation.

But I had once the “No signal” problem during navigation with Sygic.

Screen first showed vertical white lines with blue background and after 1 second it showed the “No signal” text. Android system seems to be completely down. No music, no navigation voice. Switching to BMW side worked, I could listen to radio. Switching back to Android side, it still showed “No signal”. No help.

Maybe it is a problem with system on heavy load?
Because I was downloading maps update in the background before the crash. GM performance is still sluggish. Android showed a message that GM app has stopped responding...I could wait or close the app.

DAB app is still get killed.

I reported back to Louie.

I havent installed it yet since im on holiday at the moment and havent found a way yet to get the files on my USB stick...
I dont think its an issue with load.. im guessing its heat...
Its also the reason the units processor has been downclocked i heard.

Atiqofsweden , id reinstall the software. Looks like something went wrong. If it doesnt work after a reboot, my best guess is to put it on an USB stick and insert it before booting. If it doesnt work, rename the file to px3_reset.img and try again..

Today I had again the issue with Waze, looks like the update didn't solve this problem for me. I believe I'm the only one having this problem, could someone post a video with the setings of the unit? Maybe there is a setting that I have to change?

Could you please compare this to your unit settings and let me know if something is different?

I agree with you that heat could be the reason for the system crash. But heat is also a result of heavy system load

Heat as reason makes sense because of "features" implemented by the manufacturer:

1. Downclock CPU from 1.6 GHz to 1.2 GHz
2. Reduce number of apps running in the background by killing them. Only a few apps on the white list are allowed to run.

Tried to measure the CPU temperature with CPU monitor app, but no sensors are available.

Btw a CPU monitor app is also get killed when running in the background.

Why is your Car Type settings in chinese?
I have Car Type settings in english starting with F48...

Rest of the settings is the same. I left everything on default.

Other cartype XML file. Not that it really mathers its only a config file with several options and as long as there is one.that works, its ok

I think the main issue is that after the player starts, I press the menu button and start Waze immediately. I don't allow the unit to boot up completely.

Anyway, I thought that the issue is the GPS antenna location and I removed the trims (again) and with the GPS Test App, I've searched for the best position.
Looks like that under the A-pillar trim has very good reception, best position would be on the dashboard, but I wantend to have it hidden

Try to find an image with this trim, maybe on ebay? You'll see that on the top side there is a metal clip, in the middle a plastic clips and on the lower side two fixing features. The disassembly should start from the top, using plastic trim tools
