Posted the JB4 on the member classifieds 😏

At a minimum, I'd switch to Map 0 and flash the actual MHD E30 tune to see if you feel an improvement over the JB4 ethanol map. That should answer some questions before you actually ditch it.

You mean buy the MHD OTS E30 map? I honestly hate doing that because I feel like every purchase I make in this project is one step forward, two steps back lol. I literally just bought the JB4 app and Bluetooth adapter like 3 weeks ago because I thought I needed it to log the JB4 + MHD backend flash. Now I'm buying the MHD wifi adapter and logging module.
Since I'm planning on buying a custom tune from Wedge, I hate to also pay for an MHD OTS map if I don't have to.

No worries man, you've got a solid plan of attack.

can you translate the descriptions to english? I think I see engine speed and fuel pressure but not sure about the others or their units of measure.

That looks like a lot of wheel spin

-0.5 C ambient is going to make it difficult to do a 3rd gear pull.

You'll need to wait till the temperature warms up a bit and try 4th gear?

The only data point that looks useful is 6900 RPM and everything looks good for a Stage 2 93 octane map

Feels very fast! Worry to check the 100-200 time because of winters tire. But checked 100-150km/h is 2.8 sec. Based on this video M140i stage2 100-200 8.2 sec and 100-150 is 2.92

my 340i stage2 should be ~8 sec 100-200

Alright, update on the MHD/JB4 saga.
I yanked the JB4 and reflashed back to stock via MHD, then flashed to the stage 2 E30 OTS map. (side note, man the wifi adapter makes that a breeze. Wish I had known it was an option when I first purchased MHD because it's only like 10 bucks more than the K+DCAN cable from bimmergeeks.

Here are the first 3 pulls at operating temp after the flash to the E30 map. Interested in your thoughts because my butt dyno didn't register much. Car felt like stock at 50% throttle from stoplight to stoplight when getting up to operating temp and WOT pulls weren't anything write home about.
Do the MHD OTS maps learn/adapt over time? Do I need to do some additional pulls to see additional gains?

https://datazap.me/u/tnilson/mhd-e30-pull-1-3rd

https://datazap.me/u/tnilson/mhd-e30-pull-2-2nd

https://datazap.me/u/tnilson/mhd-e30-pull-3-2nd

Edit: Technically SC_B5X did reply to one of my earlier posts with a recommendation to purchase the wifi adapter instead and my dumbass didn't see it before I bought the cable.

Generally it looks like a Stage 2 MHD E30 log for boost, timing and AFR. The only thing that looks a bit off is rail pressure. Mine on that map actual was flatline following target. Maybe try reset adaptions from the Codes menu?

Do you have draggy?

No dragy 🙁. I'll try the reset adaptations suggestion.
I also sent these to Ken at Wedge, he's going to do a custom tune once the Supra hpfp is installed. I'll share his comments with the group as well.

Edit: No go on reset adaptations for the high pressure fuel system.
Thinks for a minute then says: "Failed. Connected"

Yep, the only thing I see are the fuel pressure drops. Likely because you are spiking 18+psi. It seems like 16-17 is the safe zone for us on stock fuel system, I'm just not sure why downpipes seem to prevent B58s from controlling boost efficiently. Everyone with a catless downpipe since the JB4-only days get the boost spikes and throttle closures.

In the ones I've looked at with the boost spike the WGDC remains too high, at 100%, for too long. The high flow and catless systems build boost earlier, so to prevent shooting past target the WGDC should drop down (to about 89%) about 200 - 300 RPM earlier than a car with stock downpipe.

I think it's a little more of a challenge, because if you downshift and floor it at 4k-5k, it'll experience the same thing.

I know for sure, my V2.0 logs changed the boost curve. It targets 14ish psi until it peaks 14-15, and then target bumps up to 16. It still overshoots a bit sometimes, depending on how fast boost comes on. I think higher rpm pulls have more difficulty controlling boost.

But again, I just don't understand how it can be so difficult to lock in an EWG's boost control. I never had these issues with other OEM/aftermarket boost controllers and normal wastegates.

very nice. I can't wait to get started on mine.

How are you guys approaching it? Seems like a lot of boost and timing for a base map. Are you just slowly increasing the E to see how it responds?
