Bear with me on this one because I have only just picked up my new 3 series (cue no pics yet comments) and it shouldn't have iDrive 6 as that is only from July right, but......

It says:

If you spec your car with the navigation system Professional, the on-board monitor no longer displays the main menu and control options for the various functions in lists, but in the form of adjacently arranged tile symbols

Mine looks likes like the picture they show but obviously in English, aka

It then goes on to say:

To top everything off, the Professional system will be fitted with the Natural Language feature that allows you to say commands easier, not being restricted to a set of pre-defined statements.

When I first pressed my voice control button, it asked me if I would like it to send off what I say for natural language processing.

I also have the Touch Control which I didn't think I was going to get.

So have I ended up with iDrive 6 or did I just not have a clue and tiles, natural language and the touch controller were standard on the Pro Nav anyway?

Looks like 5 to me.

6 is the same as 5 except it has touchscreen on the F30/F32. On the the 5/7 it's has gesture control too.

You have ID5. ID6 won't be on cars until the LCI2 ones come out, which will also have touchscreen.

That's Idrive 5 you've got there. I understand those of us with Idrive 5 can code Idrive 6 'light' which essentially changes the front screen to the 3tile layout I believe but obviously doesn't include touch screen or gesture control.

Thanks for the confirmation everyone. Its surprising what a dealer will tell you to avoid something!

Is the touch iDrive controller standard on the 3 series then? I tried to look while I was waiting for delivery but couldn't find anything. Mind you, I'm right handed so it could cause a few laughs

I have a 17plate 440lci and mine looks like the one with the zoomed in second
Pic but if you press the home or menu button again it zoomed out again to look similar to the top for approx 10seconds then zoomed back in again. So is mine still id5 then thanks ian
