My oldest is 21.
My youngest is 6 months.

Are you female? The cutoff is 35. For a male it's later, but I think what many don't get is that when a male is older, his sperm is of a lower quality, and DOES contribute to birth defects.

For every Larry King, I have always suspected there are births we do not hear about.

21, wife was 22 for the first and a little over two years later for the second. I was in the Marines at the time so we didn't really plan things the traditional way. It was challenging to say the least, but looking back now I wouldn't want to change a thing. Nothing with the kids, that is...

I was 36 and my wife was 34 and we have a gorgeous 15 year old Son. Almost had a second one about two years after my boy was born but that didn't work out.

I owned my own business so we travelled the world first and did all sorts of things. Lucky enough to still be travelling the world, just costs more now with an extra adult.

My Son is the best thing in my life (wife close second), amongst other things he is very smart, a great swimmer and plays in a Marching Band and it makes my extremely proud every time I see him perform or succeed.

I must have super swimmers as I hit the jackpot first time!

I was 28. I am now 42 and my eldest daughter is 14 (nearly 15) and I have two more; daughter 13 and son 11.

Your age does not really matter too much: perceived "too young" or "too old" is only that - a perception.

Good parenting depends very much on your overall life goals and your commitment to your children, irrespective of the relationship that you have with the mother / father of the children. Your age really should not factor at all. You can be a good parent at any age - the attitude and commitment that you set out with, is the key aspect - both for the well being of your child and for yourself.

Cheers.
