F30 Vertical Aim Failure Halogens Headlight error
Hi Guys,
My first post so please be gentle with me I have a BMW 320D 2013 F30. European version Basically the headlights dont auto level on ignition plus I am getting an error "headlight vertical aim control failure". I have the the basic halogen model, which I presume means these are not adaptive headlights? I have checked the wireing inside the headlights by removing the top screw off lid and all seems fine, the stepper motors are both connected fine (are these replaceable or built in to the headlight unit)?. I have read about the levelling sensors/rod in the wheel arch becoming disconnected? is this mechanism present in the halogen headlights?, see the link below as it only mentions this in the xenon and adaptive lighting systems. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=31_0948 Can anyone suggests as diagnostics to try. Many thanks Max |

I have a 318D SE Touring 2013 with exactly the same issues, we did put a diagnostic tool on to it and came up with DSC Adaptive Switch failure, anyone know if that is the headlight switch??

An update on my issue with the "Headlight Vertical Aim Control Failure", my local specialist had the car in to do a diagnostic check, after a great deal of searching they found a blue/green wire had broken in the wiring to the headlight which caused the fault, wire repaired and all sorted for £ 180.
