Forward Jerk after letting of the brake at a dead stop

Hey everyone,

my car jerks forward a tiny bit after letting off the brake, almost like the pads are sticking. Noticed this after my Fabspeed sport cat install but has happened other times. I know this is a wide reported issue on the E90s and E92s.

Worn control arms or ball joints can cause this, especially in the front suspension.
Have someone look from the outside while you recreate the jerking motion... If the wheel jerks forward or backwards in the wheel well when you let off the brake, then you've found your problem.

If you don't have someone to look from the outside, you can stand a mirror up outside the car to look for yourself. Position the mirror so that you can see the reflection of the wheel/tire from the drivers seat while you release the brake. Do this for all wheels and see which one(s) is moving inappropriately.

For the right rear wheel, you'll need to position the mirror so that you can see it in your passenger side rear view mirror.

Check the front first though, as they are the usual culprits.

You’re sure it’s not the “hill hold assist”? The brakes hold the car for a second when you let off the brake to prevent “rollback” and when they let go it can be a little jerky.

I personally think it is this since the jerk has gone away again. The car only has 38k miles. It would be hard to believe that the bushing are shot.
