Yeah, I understand. When I only touched every 6-12 months I felt like I had to relearn the menus and procedures but since I've been collecting logs a lot it's easier to understand.

Login to Bootmod3 and connect to the car.
I use a Kies WiFi adapter with my phone

Choose OTS MAPS
Choose the new map that you want
Choose GET TUNE
It will download the map from the Bootmod3 server to your My Maps
Choose MY MAPS
Find the new tune that you just downloaded

You will see that the existing version is still in My Maps and the new one has been added to the list. If you click on each map it's version information comes up.

See photo from my My Maps. Those are three different versions that have come out over the past few years. They don't go away unless I delete them.

FOLLOW THE INSTALL GUIDELINES
Make sure the driver's seat belt is connected, all headlights, radio, fan, etc are off
Fold backseats forward and open trunk for emergency access to battery
(I always drive around for 20 minutes before flashing to make sure battery is fully charged)

Choose the new tune from My Maps
Choose FLASH

Hope this helps!

Yea man big time ! I still might wait a little though to flash as someone mentioned it’s more linear and such. I admit I do like that sudden push! But will keep your instructions on a photo....

Hello !
I'm close to tune my recently acquired F31 340i.

I read a lot on B58 tuning, limits etc...
It seems BM3 (and probably others) are working very close to the limits on ignition timings. Some people recommend to use a lower octane map with a higher octane fuel in the tank.

It seems OTS v2.2 maps are now boosting more.
"Revised timing tables" may lead to less aggressive timing ?

Long story short, I'm in France, with easy access to RON98 at every stations.
with v2.2 stage 1 should I go to 93/98 tune or 91/95 tune ?

thanks !

98 RON = 93 AKI, but not all gas is created equal. I would try the 93 octane map first, and take a log. If you're seeing timing corrections, move down to the 91 map.

Yes waiting on that as well...I’m surprised no one has put up some sort of review of a v 2.2 map yet

I flashed the E50 stage 2+ map, car is smoother down low, way more power. Based on the BM3 dynos, it is around 30 more HP and torque throughout the rev range versus my old E30 stage 2+ map. I am rynning the TU pump, I did see a rail pressure drop but I might be closer to E55 in the tank. I'm going to get an exact measure at E50, then data log again to be safe. No timing pull either.

Car is a rocket, way more power, you feel a good amount of difference, pulls harder through the entire rev range, feel more power up top too

I've done more dragy pulls than I came to remember, and the fastest 100-200 I achieved with stage 2 93 was around 9.3 secs (heavy weight F31). First pull on the new stage 2 93 was 8.96. It's definitely quicker, but the last time I ran stage 2 93 was back in the summer so the cooler temps will have made some difference on that time.

Would you guys say the power is more linear and less of that sudden pull like previous owner mentioned?
also let us know how the new logs look!
Thank you for your inputs.

Yes the whole linear thing doesn’t sound like a good punch that v 2.1 is known for but that sudden punch is of course related to the torque spike down low which a lot of people say is not a good thing so.....

But hopefully it punchier mid to upper if that low spike is lost a bit

Just flashed the updated stage 2 93 octane. The torque feels wayyy better then the previous stage 2. I think overall power feels around the same. But the car is way more fun to drive. I used to completely hook in a 2nd gear pull… now in second I will spin tires all the way. Feels fun lol

Just flashed stage 2 91 octane myself. I definitely feel like overall the power delivery is much smoother. I do think power is much more linear and less of that punch. Mid and high range rpm there is power throughout as well.

Definitely need to drive it a little bit more to determine which one I prefer more.

Coming from the BM3 Stage 2+ e30 to the e50, I can no longer safely drive in sport+. The car spins through 2nd gear...I love the additional power (plus I have a Vargas GC Turbo on order) but now I'm re-thinking my tire/wheel setup. Mod-Life is so expensive...lol!

I data logged again last night the new E50 map, new Michelin tires. Forget third gear to data log, car fish tails now versus e30, didn't do that. Car is much quicker. I was pretty spot on at E50 fuel, no timing pull, but rail pressure drop to 2000ish, then right back up. the rest of the log looks good. I am running the TU pump. At E35-E40 fuel on the E30 map, rail pressure was solid.

Anyone know how much rail pressure drop is acceptable? I was thinking about going down to E45, then logging, see if my timing is till good and if rail pressure gets better?

I've noticed it's easier to reverse without losing traction with the new update

If you could post a BM3 E50 log I wouldn't mind comparing the MHD E40 on the same mods.
