I personally - would not get the H&R Super Sports. Don't get me wrong - they look good but I would be very concerned with rubbing and scraping, especially with a daily driver.

Im about to choose myself and Im thinking either #1 or #3 on the list.

The car in photo is a base suspension with Dinan Performance Springs.

Nice chart. Are those the manufacturers specs or the results from users?

Nice chart. Are those the manufacturers specs or the results from users? Also, what does AVE mean?
I got all of these from manufacturer website. Average drop, sorry- shoulda just spelled it out!

Average would be the estimated drop for the midpoint of vehicle (taking into account front and rear drops).

Can anyone provide their experience with the super sports on OEM shocks? I live in Orange County California where roads are quite nice. My previous cars were all really, really low on coilovers but I've never ridden on lowering springs before so was wondering how the ride quality was. Currently have an m sport 435i.

Also I do know that lowering springs on OEM shocks isn't the greatest idea since it could lead to faster wear on the shocks, can anyone provide more insight on this? I'm not sure how long I'm going to be keeping the car for but I would say probably another year or two max.

after many years of suspensions springs and coilovers i realized low springs always ride like shit and burn out your shocks quickly.

Something mild like Eibach Pros might be a better fit overall. Thats what im going for

My experience was not good, at least using base f30 328i struts. maybe you'd have better luck with the oem msport struts, but I really don't know. Because you are shortening the travel with lowered springs, you basically just bounce off the bump stops way too much with the stock struts. I ended up buying a set of b8 bilsteins which are a lot firmer and designed for lowered springs/shorter suspension stroke and the overall setup was much improved. So basically I wasted a bunch of time not doing that from the get go having to basically do the suspension job twice Oh well, next time I should have it down to just a few hours LOL.

Where did you source the B8's ?

I really liked my super sports. Coilovers are better, but $200 vs $1000+...springs are worth the money. I had no issues with scraping until I went lower on coilovers.

Your shocks will be fine. Just keep the bump stops installed so if you hit a big bump/pot hole they won't bottom out.

I'm still enjoying my super sports but I think my front shocks are gone. I need to change those and continue enjoying the car
