Expected air mass values 320d

Hey there,
Recently I've been feeling like im in limp mode but I still have full power say for example il be in 3rd and on usual occasions when I put foot down the power is strong and now I have a slight delay I've noticed causing me to down shift, I've been driving for 10 years and have only ever driven diesels so its not a case of not knowing when to shift properly as its most deffo not that🤣 decided to have a look at live values on bimmertool and the expected values as you can see are well off and the others are not far off expected , now I've been saying to myself it feels like I have a slight air leak or something and then the air mass is like this so maybe they are related? Anyone else got an adapter to try out see what values you get and we can compare ?
BTW I used a enet cable to do the scan..

Possible causes:

1) Bad MAF sensor
2) Restriction in the intake tracts (including air filter, swirl flaps, soot clogging of the intake and valves etc)
3) Bad turbo
4) Very low engine compression
5) Bad engine timing

I’d suspect #2 since it’s a diesel. You can run “intake port sooting” test from ISTA. Usually, the calculated and the actual air mass should be close together. If they’re too far from each other, you should de-coke your intake tract. This can be done by either removing the entire tract and clean it or thru intake cleaner spray.

And #1 doesn’t hurt either. Just pop it out and spray it with MAF cleaner. Do the same for MAP too just in case.

Im having same issue. Although i suspect a bad o2 sensor can cause this as i get same expected as you on MAF but my o2 sensor live data shows 0.95V (95,0 mV as it shows in bimmertool) constant which is too high. Im not sure if they relate to each other. I pulled out my o2 sensor but still show 0.95V so im guessing wires shorted somewhere or maybe bad ECU. Check what your lamba/02 values are.

also worth mentioning. My car differs everytime on each startup. The 1600 mg/stk still stays but the power output is very different. I can star, it drives wonderful, park up and start it 5 mins later and i feel a decrease, park up and start it once again and it drives well. It just varies all the time. I really suspect that it has to do with what voltage my 02 sensor sits at. Sometimes it drops to 0.87V and i feel the car is more responsive etc.

Hi. Have you any fault codes at present? I’ve been having an issue with 24CF00 “Air Mass Flow Sensor, Calculated to measure air Mass, Too Low”.

Do you notice a puff of smoke on startup?

The OP's screenshot shows a huge mis-match between expected vs actual MAF reading. This could be caused by anything that influences Air/Fuel ratio e.g. MAP/MAF/Lambda/EGR Sensor or EGR/PCV/Inlet pipework.

Do some logging against those sensors and plot a graph of Expected (also known as 'Setpoint') versus actual values.

One way to test is to unplug 1 sensor at a time and see if the car starts behaving. The ECU will have a set of defaults for many sensors that will work for period before throwing an EML or Limp mode.
