Really depends on how much of a hit the G20 is..
if it comes out with a Lexus grille... buy F30s!

Porsche makes a pretty amazing EPS rack (I would say the benchmark), no reason the next generation of EPS (from other manufactures) cannot be good. Mazda also makes a pretty decent EPS rack as well.

Actually never mind.... I guarantee you guys, no matter how amazing the G20 is, there will be plenty of complaints on here
Have you experienced the eps systems from Porsche and Mazda though? I've heard plenty of scuttlebutt too, but not actually tried them myself. I've also heard Porsche owners complaining about their eps systems just like bmw drivers do. Then again, I've also been to other car forums where people were saying that bmw is one of the best eps systems currently out.

What we do know is that any current eps rack from any manufacturer is going to fall short on feedback compared to the best hydraulic racks that were once available.

I'm sure 335/340 and the M3 guys will all disagree with your statement.

It's relative. I'd say that a 335i feels like a performance car compared with the average dd. Compared to focused sports cars though, it's more like a "sporty" midsize luxury car. Maybe it's still slightly more compact than what's currently classified as midsize, but the f30 and G20 are pretty close.

Hydraulic steering gave hydraulics version of road feel. You only get true road feel with no power assist or a shock eliminating piston on a manual setup.

Electric is just different from what 99% of the people are used to driving so the "it used to be better in the old days" guys are out in full force.

Have driven manual steering cars for over 50 years, including currently, & no power system regardless of type has ever replicated the feel.

Thing is you can even change the "feel" of a pure manual system with caster, toe-in & camber adjustments.

Realistically no one should buy a car with expectations of keeping its value. You should buy a car that you want because it will make you happy or make your commute more enjoyable. Unless you’re buying some Uber rare, limited edition Porsche or super car, the only direction the value will go is down. Personally I leased my 340 because I wanted a 6mt and I know that won’t be offered in the future so to me idc about value of the car. Hell, I may even buy it out at the end just because I want to keep the manual, not because the buyout is a great deal. Anyone who “buys” a car, especially from new, with the expectation of excellent value retention is sorely mistaken.

My last two cars are worth more now than when I bought them. I personally was offended by this trend so I bought a BMW. Let's just say the third car is not holding its value.....

Where do you guys get all the cheap F30s? Can't find any in Illinois with okay miles under $20k, its either high mileage 2012s with the luxury lines or 13/14s with no options maybe other than cold weather pack

When I read the article I didn't believe it, but after a trip to my dealer, it must be true, especially because I know that no 3er with 50k miles is worth $35k, especially a bare bones model like the one I saw. Oh and the 15' 328i (sedan) next to it, had 45k miles and was a little more than half the price at $19k with a good amount of options.
Because no G21 on this side of the Atlantic. A 2019 F31 M Sport will not be an investment like 1M was, but you can still be pretty certain you won't have a problem selling it a few years down the road.

I've just put my 2016 328xit M Sport on the market, and when figuring out the asking price I saw a clear difference (at least a few K) between similarly equipped F30s and F31s.

I mean thats what you're going to get lol.

I got my 13 about 2 years ago for like 35000 with 27k miles (that was really low at the time) and all options BESIDES cold weather package (RIP) and thats still worth about 22-25 grand right now as of the last time I checked KBB. If you want something sub 20k then you're gonna need to find a 12-14 with high miles and no options otherwise you're SOL.

Got my 1 owner, 2013 328i Luxury Line with 61,000 for 17,000. But really high depreciation here in FL. No one wants the used ones, they want the newest models. A lot of places can't sell their BMW's, Mercedes, Jaguars, etc. so they have no choice but to keep lowering prices till they sell.
